Horn question
Okay, so I might be the only dumb one, because I can’t find the answer anywhere.
Truck has been apart for years. I bought one of the camaro comfort grip wheels years ago for my 72. There was no instructions included. I thought I was missing some pieces for the horn. Anyone one have photos of the pieces and the order to install the horn assembly under and up to the hub? Posted via Mobile Device |

I recommend post pictures of the steering wheel and all the pieces that you do have that you think are related to the horn.

The off white plastic ring with the tower, pin, and spring is called a cancelling cam and would be used with a stock pickup steering wheel. I don't know for sure but think you would not be using it with the steering wheel if you have the wheel shown in the Classic Industries picture. Do you have all the parts shown in the Classic Industries picture? Somebody here may know how that steering wheel works, or you may be able to call Classic Industries and get some instructions from them.

I put one of these wheels on my truck and used the stock cancelling cam. The horn and turn signals work as they should. The only pieces you need to use from the CI kit are the wheel, hub, center cap and retainer, and the screws.

I have a comfort grip steering wheel on my truck, and did the same as 70STOVEBOLT. You will need to reassemble the small pieces back into the plastic tube on your canceling cam in the following order:
1) Spring 2) Aluminum piece, with large end against the spring 3) Plastic retaining ring I don't recognize the larger cylindrical metal piece in your photo. |
