Tranny Question....

In my 85' GMC Sierra I just purchased it has a floor shifter that goes, L-1-2-3-R, I was wondering if this would be an original transmission to the truck or not, also is this considered a 4-speed or a 3-speed?
Thanks in advance

I'm betting you have a SM465 manual transmission with a real low first gear, it's a 4 speed unit. It could well be the original transmission for the truck.
