Big block engine perches

Hey Guys.

Has anyone used the "L" shaped big block brackets (I guess these are C20) and installed them REVERSED. Meaning putting the left on the right side and the right on the left side?
I would plan on mounting the brackets in the REAR 2 holes. I currently have them mounted correctly in the front 2 frame holes on top (along with the correct hole on the crossmember) but it just moves the engine too far forward for my CVF serpentine. I need a total of 11.5" between the head and the radiator. Right now I have 10

I measured and from what I see, I can use the back 2 holes if I can figure out to mount them. Looks like I can reverse them but I'd have to drill 2 new holes in the crossmember (along with notching the top of the frame).
Since the body is off, I measured from the cab mounts directly behind the seat to the inside firewall where the notch is. I have 55". I then measured on the frame from that mount to the edge of the valve cover, and I have 58". Move that back 2" and I should still have clearance.....at least it does look good on paper

I have a '66 GMC Suburban which came with a BB 351e so the firewall is already notched and "appears" to be in the correct place (aprrox 18" up from top of cab mount"

I had ordered these, thinking they were BBC mounts, but the picture is incorrect. I guess they are SMC. Hope CJ Pony takes them back

If you look at some of my pictures the cab in notched out so I could use the rear holes. They call these tubular SBC mounts. They have been in my truck for about 7 years now with no problem. I have 12 1/2 of space from my radiator core to the head. I am running a 4 core radiator. Post 20 has pictures of the mounts. You might have to do some body work on your firewall but it seems these engines fit different in some trucks.

Thanks for the reply. If they are the tubular perches, sounds like the ones I was looking at sold by POL
Was hoping to keep the rubber mounts that were sold, but if I have to change I will

I took a look at your thread last night. I remember coming across your pics while doing a Google search.
I think I will try reversing the big block stands first as I've already got a fortune in stands and mounts.
I had originally planned on going 383 so I bought the 383 stands and mounts. So I have those brand new in box along with these BB stands and mounts. So I have almost $400 just in those 2 sets.
I guess if I go with small block stands, I can always just use the CPP and use them in the rear holes. I like the BB stands/mounts since the motor sits a little higher. That should put it right in the notch on the firewall.
