Well that was a Crappy day
The day started off alright with a little bit of sun. I thought today would be a great day to get the daughter from school as the insurance runs out pretty soon and its going away for the winter. That GFL Environmental truck had a different idea..... I know it doesn't really look that bad but how in the heck am i going to match the survivor paint.... it was painted 26 years ago. GRRR

Re: Well that was a Crappy day
That is pretty crappy. But you should be able to get that back on the road by spring.

Re: Well that was a Crappy day
Always hurts to see someones pride and joy take a hit. At least no one got injured. I’m sure there are painters out there that can come close to matching that patina. Heck they do fake patina paint jobs now.

Re: Well that was a Crappy day
Should be easier to match with white I would think the hard part will be replacing that grill with OEM in the same condition. Glad to see everyone was ok just be careful with the insurance company and even if it’s your company writing the check they are not always looking out for a correct fix don’t ask me how I know that

Re: Well that was a Crappy day
Thanks. Yeah I still go into the garage and feel sick. I had my painter come up to the house to have a look. He said it would probably be a blend through the door and the hood. I know he's good at what he does, he painted my 55. Now I'm fighting with the insurance company on what parts they want to use...

Re: Well that was a Crappy day
I had a similar thing happen with my Blazer about 5 years ago. Most collision shops would not even quote it but I got lucky and found a guy who said he could do, and he did.
Good luck, Rg
