Does the lower radiator seal that ataches to the splash pan, does it go over or below (as shown from below) the cross member?

Re: Lower radiator seal
Wow, I never knew there ever even was one. I saw what looked like staple holes in mine ut didn't give it too much thought. Now, I gotta get me one o' those. Hope the over or under dilemma gets resolved soon but under makes more sense to me because over would put the runoff in the crossmember.

Re: Lower radiator seal
They really did put a lot of thought into directing the air flow on these trucks. The radiators are baffled on the sides, top, and bottom. The air openings on the hood clearly have some science to them too what with the seal around the hood latch and those "wings" bolted between the core support and the body.
I found out how important baffles are when I added an A/C and there was a gap all across the top and bottom of the condenser because it was spaced a bit foreward of the radiator. The system short cycled in traffic for lack of air draw from the engine fan. After I sealed those gaps with some baffles of my own, everything worked perfectly. Btw, where'd you get that thing anyhow? Last edited by AcampoDave; 11-02-2021 at 11:14 PM. |

Re: Lower radiator seal
Probably at the Truck Shop in Orange, CA when I was out there. Page 93 in their catalog. You can also view and order online. Oh wait, stop the press I just saw what they call a " radiator support to radiator seal" set same page.
The one in my pic is the "splash pan to radiator seal". I wonder what the others are. One has 5 holes in it, maybe its across the top? Or is that for the hood latch seal?
