6L80e trans shifter spline thingy .....

What attaches to this shifter spline ? I have heard that the older style ( TH350) would work but cannot for the life of me figure out how....

That looks like part of a Lokar adjustable shift lever. It should come off then the older lever will go on it.

The transmission shaft has 2 flats on it for location. My Lokar adapter has a screw int he center that holds the adapter in place. Your looks as though the screw is either missing or broken off in the threaded hole? My adapter is aluminum. Your looks to be more like metal, although it is hard to tell. If you remove the center screw on mine, the adapter slides right off the double flats.

Sometimes it takes a very thin wall socket to get this on or off. You may need to grind the OD of a socket to get it to fit.
