My Baby

Here's some pix of my work in progress. It's a daily driver, so the work is slow. Here's what I got so far...

383 Stroker w/forged crank, long duration Crane cam, KB Silvolites, Holley Pro-Jection

700R4 racing transmission that the builder says is 'bulletproof.' That's what the last guy said...

B&M Quicksilver shifter
New Grant Steering wheel (Xmas!)
Camaro bucket seats
Suburban removable back seat (I cut the mounts out of the floor and welded them in)

6" pipe bumpers! Working on the rear...

I bought it like that, but I think the original color was Mustard. Most of my pix are too big to post!

Well, I was cruising with the top off down a lonely stretch of 2-lane when I saw this light bar sitting on the side of the road. I locked 'em up, backed up, got out, and took a look. It was awfully suspicious: a police light bar just sitting there. It hadn't fallen off or been part of a wreck; it was in good shape with no damage. Apparently it had been unbolted and the wiring harness cut. So I grabbed it and hauled ass.
Since then, I've rewired it and gotten clear lenses for the front, giving me 6 offroad lights in front, alley lights out each side, reverse lights and brake/blinkers in back. The strobes in the center even work.

More pix soon

I got some other odd things about my truck:
The hood scoop is the oil pan off a Continental 6 cylinder airplane engine. The seatbelts are out of a Blackhawk helicopter and rated to 7 G's. I have an airhorn off a Mack truck, my rear seat is from a Suburban, the front buckets frm a Camaro, and the center bucket (3 across) is for a bass boat. It's pretty ugly, but that's all cosmetic stuff that comes later.

OK to have in TX, but not to use. All the FWD lenses are clear now, giving me 6 offroad lights facing forward (no flashers). The strobes in the middle are just for fun and on a momentary switch.

The light bar looks sweet with all clear lenses, makes for some pretty sleek/low profile off road lights Awsome job
