Anybody got tire recommendations?
I'm getting close to putting a new set of tires on my 68 LWB. I want a larger (taller) tire than the 215/75 R15 that I have now. I'm thinking a 31X10.5 will be about right. Anybody have a recommended brand? My choices are pretty limited for sources up here. I've got a place that sells Coopers, there's a Sears and a Wal-Mart, too. I'd like to keep the price below $100 per tire if at all possible, but I'll give just a little more if there's a darn good reason.
Somebody got a pic of a LWB with 31X10.5 (or very similar) handy?

too bad you live so far away....my buddy's got 4 235/70r/15

..i agree go b.f. goodrich...they also sell an off brand name called defender..which are also very good tire just a little more aggresive tread..31 10.50's are pretty big for a 2wd ...take a look at a 275/60..there around 28" tall...

According to this tire size converter: http://www.s-series.org/htm/calc/tiresizeconv.htm
a 265/75/16 tire should be 31.6" x 10.4", which is just about what you want. Here's a pic of mikep's former truck  It's a LWB w/ 265/75/16's on it:

This is not a good pic, but I have 255/70-15. They are BFGoodrich Radial T/A. I ordered them through Wal-Mart and were ~$94 per tire. Pretty good traction wet and dry. They also do good in the snow (well, better than I had planned anyway)
