77 Cheyenne SWB yellow with blue interior

Just purchased this odd duck. Pretty certain it's factory. Super rusty but the cab is solid. Drives surprisingly well. Forgive me I did a little photoshop already in the tires and wheels. I'll carefully remove that build sheet soon.

Sweet! And it still has the build under the seat. Not everyone gets that lucky. Of all the hundreds of seats I have stripped down to restore, I have only found 1.

Re: 77 Cheyenne SWB yellow with blue interior

back in the day in NYC all tow trucks for collision centers were yellow and most had blue interiors.. the yellow was more like a national schoolbus chrome color tho

Howdy neighbor, that's a neat truck. If you decide the yellow and blue is not for you, feel free to let me know, haha. It's a very well outfitted truck, but I have to wonder why someone opted out on the spare tire. Other than the wheels and tires, what are your plans for it? Maybe you can start a build thread?

For now I'm sticking it in the back yard and trying to forget I have it! I've got a 63 impala taken apart in my garage that comes first. The hood, fenders, doors, and bed are pretty bad. The important stuff is good; cab, chassis, and it drives nice. A clean hood and bed floor would make a big difference but idk if it's worth the effort to replace just that yet. First thing I'll do probably is a 4/6 drop, tires/wheels, and get it running and driving perfect.

What a beaut, am I'm with you: clean it up and lower it and drive it just like that.

The color combo is odd of course. I wonder if it was some company's fleet colors. I feel like I have seen it before, maybe on this forum. Not all company trucks were "special paint", sometimes you could just check boxes.

Thanks dag. No doubt fleet colors are sometimes odd. However this is a Cheyenne with power convenience options, auto trans, V8, and even rally wheels. Things you wouldn't expect on a truck ordered for work. I have some owner history. Hopefully I can track down some stories or even some old photos.

You are probably right, but you know, that might just mean it was the boss's truck! Guys did that back in the day.

Cool find under the seat, I have never personally found a build sheet and believe me I have looked.

Re: 77 Cheyenne SWB yellow with blue interior

Somebody posted a really nice example of this combination recently. I can't remember where it is, but it's on here somewhere. Maybe if you search for yellow and blue?

I did see that. It's and older square by the door panels and super low miles, like in the 100's. Can't find it now tho.

Got it lowered and sorted out. Alignment tomorrow then she's ready for a shake down.
