55.2-59 A/C mockup

I want my fire wall to be clean, NO holes, hoses, coils, ect.
My A/C hoses and Heater hoses are going threw the inner finder next to the Radiator and threw the floor of the cab.
I may or may not use the copper elbows.
I used some 1/8" rubber sheet and 1/8" steel to make pass threw on the fender and fire wall.

Here is a picture of the condenser and my battery

So I have 4 hole in the floor and made a cover for them.
I used a Harbor Freight brake to bend the metal into shape, I made lines every 1/8" and bend it just a little on every line and some pie cuts on the corner.
One Tack weld, blow it cool with a air gun , grind flat and hammer the weld on a anvil, do this over and over until you get tack welds every 1" or so. On the corner I start with the 2 outside ones and work my way to the middle. Also I made a sheet plate to cover the air vent hole on the side kick panel. I need to weld it to the other cover next to the vent holes.

All done but still need to make a mount to the floor.
This will all be covered with padding and Vinyl

Doing things the hard way! I can relate
Just make sure that you can service everything. I've had to drop my evaporator twice.
Make sure that you mock up with the same size/width wheels, my mustll just kisses the frame.

That piece will be removable.
I'm at the end of my mockup almost, just a few more things, body work is done pretty much. Yeah I just ordered a narrower front wheel for more clearance.
This is my 5th year working on it.
If you go back and look at all my post, I never did a build post just here and there.

Yes Ogre that original rusted panel that covers over the door hinges has a 90* bend and screws into the floor. I need to cut that off so I can service the A/C without pulling up the carpet.

life gets in the way of these projects, especially when family comes first
in those 8 years i walked away from working on it more than once
i've never been the type to name vehicles other than pos, sob is right there
both of my truks have truk plates, pretty generic name for a vehicle

And I don't mean seeing the very beginning then the end result, I want to see how it got to the end result.

So I was going threw my things to do list and and I had a note to move the Evaporator up higher. DANG
I mounted the Evaporator a few years ago and I've been mocking up the hoses routing and mounting the condenser and drier.

So I moved it up 1-5/8"plus. Its going to help me out so no big deal.
I need to fill this gap.


I bent another radius piece like before and tacked it on, blow air from the air compressor to cool it off for every tack and cut a blank to add to fill the gap.


Tacked 2 places, cool with air, grind flat and hammer on a anvil to open the gap. Do this until you have it tacked every 1" or so.





Just a little trimming and it will be done.

The last picture is the old rusted, super thin panel, tack welded to the new panel and some panel bond to help hold things together. I also used the panel bond to hold the panel to cover up the vent holes.

I'm going to try to make my under dash valance with steel.
I cut a piece of metal and lay out lines every 1/4" to bend in a break. The corners will be harder to do. I cut it long and will split it for the steering column
