New seats arrived.

I ordered these 3 months ago but I feel they were worth the wait.
True bolt in with all hardware if you order the seat mounting bracket.
Upgraded 7 springs for both.

My truck will be blue in the future.

They look beautiful.

I still get nervous riding around without headrests on my seats. I knew a rugged guy that got rear ended and whiplashed and turned into an almost vegetable. I plan to go with some 90's seats someday.

The 7-spring option is for you.

Those look nice. Did you have to build the mounting bracket or did it come with the seats?

The seat bracket pictured above has the side brackets attached backwards and reversed.

I'm with you on that, I've gone high back buckets in everything I've swapped. I've been rear-ended a few times, don't need my head cracking into a window or snapping back into nothingness.

It was an option with seats as it does not include it.

There is a lot of stock bench seats from 1947 to 1987 + without headrests. I suspect finding a set of buckets w/ headrests to fit comfortably is not so easy else they (Shop4seats & TMI) would offer that option.

I was gonna recover the stock bench but it was going to cost a lot too.

Re: New seats arrived.

Nothing ever is a bolt-in it seems. I had to fashion 4 3/16" bolt spacers and longer bolts for the side brackets from flat bar stock-steel from Home Depot to properly line up frame to stock c10 seat holes in floor.

The seats are in I will upload pics soon.

Re: New seats arrived.

I would like to know how you feel about their comfort after you try them for a bit. I had a set of these same seats 5-6 years ago, I found them very uncomfortable and pulled them back out after 2 months.

OK but there is no doubt they are more comfortable than any stock bench imho. The issue will be (or not) in driving positions vs stock and getting comfortable with that.

Do you guys follow Power Nation's Music City Trucks? They used TMI seats. That truck is bad ass!

Re: New seats arrived.

I actually went with a TMI bench seat after the Shop4seats buckets! The TMI bench is 10x better in my opinion for comfort.

I do hope you enjoy the seats, maybe mine were just made wrong - I could not get comfortable no mater what I tried. The backs were so thick that I could not recline them much in the truck cab and they seemed to be cut in a way where they needed to be reclined or they would dig into the top of my back.

Re: New seats arrived.

Those look really great, and three months wait is nothing nowadays. Upholstery is on a nine month schedule, just read this site.

I bet they are really comfortable, too: after sitting in a sagged out bench seat for a few years I could use a firmer seat.

Pics?

I am gonna have to live with them in any case, and right now anything is better than sagging stock bench.

I'm not exactly comfortable with no-headrest bench either in a truck, I went with aftermarket buckets in my truck back in 1991. I used a set of 85 camaro high back buckets in my Nova (put those in around 88/89) If I knew then what I know now I'd have salvaged an extra set or two of camaro buckets for future use.

Even back in 1991 upholstery costs where insane. I came across a set of factory nova buckets in ratty shape so costed out getting them redone before buying them (glad I did) and ended up looking for something in the wreckers in good shape at a fraction of the cost. Had to make my own brackets, but thats no big deal.

Re: New seats arrived.

Shop4seats has bench seats w/headrests but they state:

"Recommended for use in expanded cabs; to maximize space in a single cab, the 40-20-40 low back truck seats are best."

I am ok without headrests. I rolled (more than once) a 77 C10 and crushed C5 bone in my neck many years ago and now have a cadaver bone in its place.
The only thing salvageable on that truck was the trailer hitch.
A roll bar might have helped.
