Adjusting doors and fenders after new cab mounts.

4 cab mount spots and 2 core support mount spots, right?? It's a pretty straightforward deal for the install im sure. But what about adjusting the doors and fenders?? Just loosen and adjust as needed?? And if I need to shim the mounts, install the shims between the mounts and cab?? Thanks.

I made a temporary support out of a 1" x 1" x 1/8" angle to run from the cab to the core support and used vice grips to clamp it. Your correct, cab first then core support. Leave all six bolts loose and use something to steady the core support. Scribe a center line on the bottom of the core support and one on the firewall and another one on the bottom edge of the back of the cab. You can use those marks as reference points to center everything up. Now hang the doors and get them where you want them. Now hang the fenders and make them match the doors using the shims that are usually under the top bolt closest to the engine bay. Those shims are also used to match the top of the fender to the wiper cowl. Leave everything loose while you fit up both sides making sure the cab is still centered on the frame. Make sure the leading edge of the doors have plenty of clearance to open without contacting the fenders. Measure your hood opening side to side to make sure the hood will fit. At the back of the hood opening anywhere near the hinge locations, the opening should be about 3/8" - 1/2" wider than the hood in the area you measured. Now square that opening up using diagonal measurements. Install the two corner pieces that tie the support to the front of each fender. You get the idea, make sure you keep the cab and support centered to the frame and the hood opening square. Install the hood latch assembly and leave the bolts just finger snug until you get the hood fitting the opening on each side and at the rear along the cowl...I wouldn't tighten any of the six support bolts until you've fitted the bed. The rear of the cab should be centered. Install the inner fenders...Take your time! If one hole wont line up, stick bolts in all the holes that do line up before you start reaming and bull pinning holes. Good Luck!
