Did 67's use any leftover parts?
Did the 67's use leftover parts like armrests?

Arm rests were carryover '65 and '66 style.

Early 68 had them too . I have the originals off my truck I think they carried over some prior items early in production

That's an Advanced Design style arm rest. I know because that's what I put in my Burban.

The vent window handle carried over.
And the Aircraft style seatbelts also carried over.

Re: Did 67's use any leftover parts?
GM never carried over leftover parts. They made leftover everything to have service parts available and put them in stock. GM did carry over designs from prior years, and some parts/designs changed during the production run

Re: Did 67's use any leftover parts?
My 68 Has 67 parts on it from the factory the most glaring is the 67 cowl vents . While I agree they didn’t just throw parts on till they were gone like you said They changed them at a pre described time on the line early trucks like mine built in late fall 1966 still used 67 items . Car companies still do it I’ve had to order parts using the vin because prior to such and such number they used the older style .

Re: Did 67's use any leftover parts?
Yes. I covered that in my last sentence. It's worse in modern times. My dealership parts counter has required the VIN to order parts since the GMT400s. Just vendors switches make a difference on parts of the same design. They will change vendors from start to finish on a vehicle, so another same vehicle made on the same day and one number off could have a different part. VINs are a necessity now

Re: Did 67's use any leftover parts?
I remember laughing when our neighbor had a Studebaker (I think) truck and had to bring in the VIN when getting ignition parts, way back in the '50s. Ain't so funny, now.

Re: Did 67's use any leftover parts?
Might have been an International. You needed the build sheet or it was very difficult to identify the correct parts. I suppose Studebaker may have had similar issues, multiple jobbers. I know with Internationals it helped to know what part of the country it originated from

Re: Did 67's use any leftover parts?
Studebaker used prestolite ignitions in all their engines . Except 65-66 because they used GM engines
