No Caprice for me, but buying a '68.
Alright. Everyone see my thread about the '71 Caprice I wanted to buy with the 402bb and turbo 400. 2700 bucks right. Well everyone was saying stuff, and it made me think, sooo, I went to my brothers today, picked him up and me, my brother, and grandmother drove around lookin for me a new project. Looked at a '69 and a 72. Wanted to check out a 60 Impala, but no title. Sooo, finally we drove back this longass driveway his g/f used to live at the end of, i knew this guy had our era trucks in his field.... and guess what I happened to strike a deal on a '68 SWB 1/2 ton. No title, motor or tranny. Body is shot... who cares. But... it's $2650 cheaper than the Caprice.soooo. I still got the title for my '67, I think I'm gonna go rob the Vin plate off of it, and 2 rear tires, to drag it to my house.... HELL YIZEAH!!!! Also, I need to know th350. Long tailshaft or short in these trucks? To not have to cut a new driveshaft. I still got around 400 bucks to get a motor and **** in it. Also. If anyone wants one around KY. He also has a '71 SWB for 500 rolling or 700 running. Kinda ruff. I need the hookup on good fenders and matching doors if u folks can help me out.

I just about crapped myself...I thought you paid $2650 for that thing....I was about to hit caps lock and go to town.
Maybe you should just use this as a parts truck and spend the remaining cash on a nice truck. IMO that one does sound kinda gone, or at least 3 tires into the grave. |

Well, you realize that every cab around here you get is gonna need some work, Soo. I reckon I'll just find some new doors and fenders. Cuz they're kinda rotted, I think. And I want a step bed anyway, and it'll be different.....And, then you have the fact that I dont like nice stuff.

SHOOT -- I'M SORRY -- $50 IS A WHOLE LOT BETTER. IT DOESN'T TAKE MUCH IN THE WAY OF USABLE PARTS TO BE WORTH $50 . GOOD DEAL .. MY OPINION OF YOUR BARGAINING SKILLS JUST CLIMBED ABOUT 500000%(5 BAZILLION) JOHN

Well, I just found out, that the guy that my brother lives with is the guy that sold the truck to the guy I'm buying it off of, so he still has the title. And I just got a th350lockup from the same guy for 50 bucks.... So, now i just need a motor.

Do you still have the pink Dodge 5/4 ton military ambulance? If so, what are your plans for it? |

It was Brabra before. Breeh is still around. Yea, I do got a digicam. I reckon I'll try to get out there this weekend and snap a few pictures. I gotta get out that way anyway, because the Ambulance is gettin traded to my brother, for a Nissan Hardbody, he's gonna use the Ambulance as a work truck, torches and he's gonna cut it apart and put a boom on it. I'm gonna sell the Nissan and my fourwheeler and put some money into this truck, kinda get it shaped up in a hurry.... Or try. Dont wanna lose it like the '67 I had.
