Help!?! Please
Alright so a few days ago my starter went out. I replaced the starter and after that the truck would have no juice in the cab or headlights or anything until I screwed with the wires (removed the pos and then connected it again.) yesterday it happened again and i removed and connected the wire but nothing still. I assumed a bad wire was the cause and replaced the pos and neg wires. They are in place tight and the ground is good. Still nothing anywhere. I checked the battery and its good, alternator good. What else could it be? help please I need to get to work. thanks

Did your new starter come with a new solonoid?
If not, and you reused your old solonoid...that could be your problem.

This may sound stupid, but how did you know your starter went bad. By that I mean, if it just wouldn't crank over, maybe you're not getting juice through your firewall and that has been the problem all along. Just a thought.

Another "may sound stupid" question, you did reinstall the spring between the solonoid and starter right?
If that isn't is, maybe check the inline fuse located on your firewall...if that blows then the truck won't start.

If I remember right, there should be a roughly 6" long piece of hard plastic (close to the master cylinder) that's folded up on itself to form kind of a cover, I thinks it's inside that.
I could be wrong.....it happened one other time

Typically in the main loom running across the top of the firewall...located roughly in the center.

What about your ignition cylinder, could it be going bad?

Could also be that the rod in the column got broke. Its what the ignition moves to start the engine and all that.
