Mufflers
Wondering about something, can someone compare flowmasters to aerochambers? I've always run flows 40 series and 70 series. What is the sound level of aero's to flows interior and exterior? I am tired of the flow sound. Thanks

Here's a link to LOHRTBEAT's site, he is running the aero chambers. Sounds tough too. I'm running 50 series delta flows right now, but I think I'm going to change to the aero chambers.

IMHO, Having heard both Flowmaster 40 series (2 chambers) and Hooker Maximum Flow's (Basically Dynomax Ultra Flow's)...and I think the Maximum Flow's sound better. They might not be as deep at idle, but they don't have that annoying drone that the flowmasters are plagued with.

ok, unless LOHRTBT has changed his sound bite....the one he has/had it actually his flowmaster.. that are now mine. he now has aerochambers...... 79BIG10 has them also...and i believe swervin. They will tell you.... aerochambers sound better... not as much interior resonance, still a deep throaty sound at idle, and a touch WOT sound. OH and they are cheaper too. (if i remember correctly... )
as soon as i "wear out" my flows and 3" pipe... there will be 2.5" pipes and aerochambers going back on.

I've got the Dynomax Ultraflows with 3 inch pipe on my SWB and I love them. When I fire it up everyone always ask me if I have exhaust. They have a completely different sound than Flows do. Both good mufflers though, I have flows on Blazer.

http://home.comcast.net/~wiersmab/newexh.avi <--- Thats the better clip with the idle and its after they had broken in. Those are my clips of my Aerochambers. They dont drone at all at cruise, at low speeds they do drone a bit with the windows up. Idle drones the most but its not bad. WOT is absolutely awesome sounding.

Thanks yall for the input. The flows are gone and Aero's are on. Instead of having the exhaust exit behind the rear wheels as they are now, I'm goin' with turn downs near the rear axle. This will clean up the rear a bit. One of these days I'll get around to posting a photo of my ride. Thanks again!!

I can only get the about 1 second of both sound clips to that I can hear. They play the whole lenght but I only hear sound for 1 second on each clip.

I've got the Flows 40 series and like them but would love some Aeros. All it takes it money.
