Seat belt help please
Ok, here's the deal. I want to get my seat belts re-webbed on my 77, but before I ship them off I need a new set of accordian boots to put on them. They have to be installed during the webbing process, not after.
What I need from you guys is pics showing what your seat belts look like at the base. I'm not sure what year the changed to the smooth style vs. the accordian style. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's pics of what mine look like-

I'm still looking for ya Ken--my '79 has the smooth style also. Does anyone have a parts manual that shows these and when they changed?

Thanks 79Silv4x4. If I can't find a decent set in this style, I may just use the smooth ones. If your truck has the smooth ones, then maybe 77 was the last year for the accordian style. We need to find someone that has a 78 to be sure....Hmmm?

And the answer is....Smooth Ken. My 78' has smooth seat belts houseing. So yes, I believe 77' would be the last yr. Unless someone replace theres with a smooth. But from factory, I think 77 was the last yr, then they went to smooth.

Well now we all know that 77 was the last year for this style of boot. Assuming mine are original.
Ok, now I am curious to see when they started. Let me think. Who has a 76 or a 75 or a.....73 yeah where is Jeff at Last edited by N2TRUX; 02-02-2004 at 01:38 AM. |

Alright, I'll see what I can do to organize a trip down there sometime soon if no one else comes up with a 73-77 truck.

Ken, my 73 doesn't have any plastic at all (except over the retractors), but I am not saying it came that way from the factory. My truck was "restored" somewhat before I got it, so they could have been removed at one point in time.
