Shaved gas filler-pics
take the gas tank out-duh! remove rubber seal
make a blank (I have extras) Fit it Weld it in by making a lot of tacks 'til its welded in Grind it smooth Ready for primer |

Dude, your killing me with your welding and grinding skills.......i did the same thing....but mine ended up with a "skim coat" of sanding putty.....

Damn! That is nice work. I dont see how you get your welds ground down so nice, I have a hard enough time getting bondo to look like something.

Earl...you da man! I don't know if it is your photography skills, bodywork or welding skills I admire more. Put them all together in a new bodywork book! BTW...where is our tech section that should include this. What do you want for one of those blanks?

Maybe he just ground off the passenger side and reversed the picture? I do body work like New York fixes pot holes---by making bumps which create more holes! MY bondo looks like peanut butter spred (chunky style) while my paint looks like someone took a mouthfull and spit it on. BUT, when it's wet and you are standing 30 feet away, it looks almost good.

How the hell do you do that with no filler. I just did that gas hole fill plate the other day (made my own fill plate) but no way could I get by without the filler. Didn't take much , but still...........
