will ya'll still want me around?

after i get rid of my truck?

i'm going up to a dealer auction with my dad wed. the auction is actually thursday, but i'm gonna go pick out some cars i like the night before.
i'm thinking either a mustang gt (99-04) if i can find one there that wont be an arm and a leg, or a 97+ grand prix gtp. there may be other things there that i havent even thought of that i might want to get, but i just dont know yet. just depends on what they are all going for on thursday.

anyways, by the end of the week, i should be in a new car. after we get the car, my dad and i will figure out where/how to sell my truck.

its just not practical to have it as a daily driver, and i want a car that i can drive every day and enjoy. i dont want to get a beater car and park my truck to drive around once a month.

oh, and if someone decides to move this post to another part of the forum , i posted it in this part because these are the only people on the forum i talk to and dont really care for anyone else on here

I guess we can all still reply to your post every now and then. You would probably be best to part the truck out then to try to sell it whole. No offense but the price your asking seems a little high in my part of town. For that kinda $$ you could buy a short bed and build it the same way you have. Anyhow I beleive you will regret getting rid of the truck once it is gone. SAY NO TO FORD. Atleast stay loyal to GM products IMO!! Goodluck.

Don't get a mustang... I really don't think you will be happy with the lack of power for just about any GT mustang out there. If you are looking that route, hop into an LS1 F-body. They make great power and are very driveable.

i drove a 02' stang gt 5 speed. yes, it was slower than my truck and had noticably less power, but i love the way they look

I agree with the guys on not getting the MUSTANG. Get a nice LS1 car. They are faster in stock form and are cheaper to get parts for vs the mustang. BTW what happned to TIM???

i KNOW the ls1 would be faster, but, this wont be a hotrod like my truck. it will be a slightly modded daily driver
and looks come way above performance. i like the way the mustangs look 10x more than the camaros/firebirds.

If looks are all you are after then thats fine. I like the style of the mustangs as much as I hate to admit. Do me a favor and dont lie to yourself. The first time you line up in the mustang and get left sittin you will start thinkin DAMN I NEED MORE POWER. Its in the blood man dont fool yourself.

i know.

ok, but believe this if you will,
i have not ONCE raced anyone on the street in my truck. i had some newer truck want to run, but it was wet out and i just got on it to make him happy(kept going sideways)

i want to get something that i love how it looks and has decent performance. the mustang looks awesome to me. and it has enough power for what i want right now. only performane things i would do would be exhaust/intake.

If you are thinking Mustang, look into getting a Mach 1. I know for a fact they aren't getting much more than a regular GT for trade in. I took a beating on mine.

the gtp's supercharger only puts out like one or 2 pounds of boost, but the electronic boost gauge is cool, don't get a mustang!, like everyone else says get a f-body, my bro's t/a is fun to ride in, and you can barely get the tires spinnin and lean against it and will push it away easily, you can also fishtail forever

i'm looking at spending less than $9000 for the car. i know i cant get a mach one for that price

and no, i'm not a poser, but i would rather have a car that i think looks nice, than a car that isnt as attractive to me.
or let me put it this way. would you rather drive a 11 second civic, or a V6 trans am? the trans am of course because it looks better.

if i can find a good deal on a newer fbody(98+) and its a v8 with 5/6 speed whatever they come with, i'll get it, but like i said, if i had to choose between a 2000 gt or a 2000 trans am/z28, it would be the gt, because i like how it looks a lot more.

oh, and the gtps put out about 7-8 stock. i'ld put on a 3.4" pulley and be pushing around 10 or so. whatever it puts out, it still makes 40 more hp than the grand prix gt with the same n/a engine

that's poser. you want a "performance" car, but dont care about its performance. BTW, if you ever find a 4th Gen V6 Trans Am, buy it no matter what the price. i'll give you $50K over what you paid for it.

haha, you know exactly what i meant jeremy trans am , firebird, same damn car pretty much.

oh, and if i didnt care about the performance, i would just get a v6 auto mustang, they look exactly the same as the gt's pretty much.

me putting gt badges on a v6 stang would be poser.

but i'm happy with the performance of the gt, and i dont think that i'm a poser for liking it more than a z28 or trans am

what would you rather drive? a 12 second 1984 ford truck?
or a 13 second 1984 chevy truck?

I think you should go w/an LS1 car instead of a stang and if you can find a way to afford it definitely look for a Mach 1. BTW, what DID happen to Tim?

13 second Chevy truck, but i wouldnt be satisfied with the 13 second timeslip. i dont carry the "1FaastC10" name from being satisfied with something that looks better than it is fast. my 86 TA could vouch for that. 13.50 car using stuff i had laying around, and i sold it because i wasnt happy with it. it was a beautiful car, but didnt stand up to my performance expectations, so it got the axe.

and if all i wanted was performance, i wouldnt be loosing money selling my truck, just to spend more on a new car. if all i wanted was performance, i would keep spending money on my truck.

i want a fairly new daily driver, that has good reliablity and decent gas milege and good performance.

the mustang gt fits all of those categories for me.

O hell no, Id take that civic any day. Getting a v6 camaro/mustang might fit the whole "poser" theme, but thats a pretty childish label IMO.
I too would take a mustang GT over a camaro/firebird for a daily driver. They do look better, and a stock header/h-pipe with strait 2.5" piping out the back and no muffler 5.0 is one of the sweetest sounding exhausts out there. I don't care much for the 4.6's though, they are weak until you get into 4 valves and boost.
