who else thinks this is the dumbest axle swap ever? at least for a k/5.
maybe its just me. i dunno. dually blazer

Interesting, but not something I would do to mine. I do like seeing what others do, even if I wouldn't. Is that out in Petaluma?

It has been for sale for several months. The body looks like it is in decent shape except for the trimmed out fender wells. The price seems high for such a "unique" modification.

I can see that being handy, maybe. I'm not much of a hard-core off-roader, but it seems as though the additional traction would come in handy. I wonder how wide of a tire you can stick on the dual wheels.

Another strange Dually
Years ago I saw a suburban someone had dualled......not just the back but the front too. Seems like it would be a huge amount of strain on the steering and front knuckles, as well as pointless other than looks. Keep in mind I saw it for just a moment as it was turning one way and I was turning the other...but the part of me that loves the road warrior stuff thought it was extremely cool. part of the fun is building the stuff, and if you've got the time and cash so much more fun to be had.

Couple of years ago I went to a rockcrawling event and saw a Samurai with duallies front and back. The guy who built it did a phenominal job, it was beautiful, not just the duallies, but the cage, the body work, engine etc. Anyway, this thing was cool, climbed rocks like a mountain goat.

was that samuri orange? i can remeber seeing an article in petersons i beleive about an 8 tire'd sammy. i think it had 42's or 44's. not sure but i remember thinking that it actually looked good. i am not totally opposed to the idea of a dual wheel conversion on a blazer, and i actually think it looks good on a suburban, but not the way this guy did it.

if i was to buy it i would take the front and rears out of it and put them under my 67gmc ton truck and take the 3/4 ton stuff i have just laying around and put them under the yellow blazer and have a nice yellow blazer

The sami is orange and was in Petersons, don't think it had 42 or 44s tho. He was running a later 1600, fuel injected motor, that size tire would have been too much.

That orange sami is outta medford oregon from a place called trail tough they build some really nice rides,and the owner of the shop is a really nice guy too.. It was called the crustation(sp).. That blazer dual wheel conversion is nice but not for me..

That Blazer needs a rear PTO & 3pt hitch.Then it would be handy on the farm/ranch.

Yeah, seems kinda dumb to me unless you really needed to use it like that. Definantly not something I would do. I agree it needs some 3/4 ton axles and some big Swampers on it.

looks like a one ton dualie got robbed and send to the junkyard for that. A cheap way to get a D60 front, they are $2-500 cheaper than their SRW counterparts.

Well I for one like it. Some of the places I have gone it would have come in real handy. As for the price it is not too high for the NW.
