Re: Pics of Progress on my 71 Blazer

Yes very excited now chasing down smaller issues and working on stereo install. Gas gauge intermittenly works, amp gauge stays at half, and a few other small things adding shims to rear axle this weekend.

Re: Pics of Progress on my 71 Blazer

Thanks guys, got the angle shims in fixed that issue. but it vapor locked on me in that 100 degree heat we had. so I think I need to insulate the fuel lines (all new) also the gas gauge issue I believe is a faulty sending unit. Stereo still in garage not in truck yet been busy.

Re: Pics of Progress on my 71 Blazer

I may have missed it while looking thru this post, but what color red is that? I love the intensity of the red its beautiful! I just picked up a 72 gmc thats a very bright red like this and I'm looking for a paint code to replicate its brightness after I fix the rust.
Thanks
Joe

Re: Pics of Progress on my 71 Blazer

Finally upgrading my wheels and tires, been a long time coming.
Getting MotoMetal 961 Chrome w/red inserts 18X10 with 375/50/18 Mickey T Bajas

She is just a street pounder but with the top down and the sun out that's all I need.

Re: Pics of Progress on my 71 Blazer

Wow can't believe how long it's been since I've updated this thread, I bought an S2000 ran that for a couple years then sold it bought a 2012 Camaro 2SS/RS and been enjoying that all last year but now I got the bug to work on the truck again so hopefully posts will be more often than every 3 years.

Neither it was the size pretty limited on space and it was my daily driver for 3 years and after putting an audio system in it there was enough room for my laptop bag and thats about it. I also really wanted the Camaro which I absolutely enjoy as my daily driver did a lot of appearence mods and small performance mods (didn't want to void the 100K powertrain warranty) but it's dyno'd at 390HP at the wheels and it's the 6MT fully loaded.

Re: Pics of Progress on my 71 Blazer

tailgate cable mod:

Let me look it up I think I have a document somewhere for this mod.
the cable is early 90s Ford Ranger and you do have to shave the T off of the tailgate but it was pretty easy and no more rattle from the old brackets.
