Re: 5/7 Drop Pics??
Hey I'm new to the site. I have an 83 sierra that i'm doing some work on and I'm wondering if this is a 5/7 drop or a 3/4? I want my truck to be somewhat similar.

Re: 5/7 Drop Pics??
Does the 5/7 require the C Notch or any other cutting/permament changes to the frame and truck?

If you don't want to cut the rails, a 5 ~ 6" drop (flip-kit) is about the max. Even then, the rear end might bottom on severe bumps/dips in the road.

by the looks of the truck in the picture you have a flip kit in the rear and 3 inch drop spindles with 2 inch drop springs in the front

Re: 5/7 Drop Pics??
As a general rule from what I have experienced, anything over a 5" drop will warrant a notch.
Yes, you can run it this way, but you will hit the frame as SCOTI stated...

now that sucks! i was considering a 5/7 drop to my truck if i find something majorly wrong with the rear axle as it has a mean vibration and grey milky looking 80/90 in it....i'll be suprized if its only the fluid causing it...or a wheel bearing
