Re: New (to me) Duramax...
You will see increased problems with all the new diesels due to emission equipment. It might even get bad enough that the diesel option may go dormit due to the lack of fuel economy, egr system failures, and the hugely increased price tag due to the emission equipment and fuel.

Re: New (to me) Duramax...
I have a little short of 150k on my 2004.5 and I got it with 75 miles on it. so in all reality Im happy with the few troubles it has had.

Re: New (to me) Duramax...
Wow a bunch of diesel guys here. Im semi kicking around the idea of switching my 71 4x4 3/4 ton to a duramax. Ive only just begun searching. Nothing on Craigslist yet...where would you guys suggest I find one of these?
Im also looking into brewing my own biodiesel fuel. Just getting into this too. Kinda like a new hobby..lol Last edited by CG; 11-06-2007 at 10:23 PM. |

Re: New (to me) Duramax...
Late to the party as usual...
![]() I got my 01 just over a year ago for towing and daily work truck duties, there's been a couple issue's (bad fuel one time for one) but otherwise love the truck. I prefer the early style grills so it works for me. Need top find a way to get the injectors changed though before I "need" too. Currently at 135K. Oh yeah, wheel bearings on the pass. side, drivers needs to be changed soon. |
