Re: I finally found my 67 SWB!!!
I paid $16K for the truck from a dealer in Texas. The first time I tried to buy it I had offered $15K, but was 2nd in line and another guy purchased it. That was 8 months ago, then I see it for sale again on ebay! The first guy sold it @ auction to the dealer that I bought it from. His bottom line was $16K. My first attempt @ a 67 was the red one I posted awhile back. It had tons of rust (from back East), so I sold it to a buddy! Some pics.

Re: I finally found my 67 SWB!!!
I agree, I don't understand all the "slamming" excessive lowering etc... But to each his own. I do feel that those of us that keep them original or close to it will be glad we did. The more trucks that are cut up, slammed, etc... will raise the price of our originals. I think 5-10 yrs from now people will say WTF was up with those "slammed" trucks.

Re: I finally found my 67 SWB!!!
All your Hot Rods look great. I would do a 4/6 drop with some traditional American 5-spokes. They are making the original design in 17" which would give the larger rim diameter with traditional look.
Nice Rides!!!

Re: I finally found my 67 SWB!!!
Truck was repainted in 2000 and original interior (new seat cover). The only thing that is not stock/original is a GM crate motor installed in 1999 and Custom Autosound radio. It has A/C, Speed buzzer, Posi, Turbo 400 trans, Big window, CST Pkg, blue vinyl interior, drum brakes. Not sure about the power steering (looks like the manual setup with a power booster attached to the linkage-I will post a pic in the forum later to see whats up). The bottom of the cab/bed looks new, whoever had this truck must have stuck it in a barn somewhere in Texas and never drove it! More pics!

Re: I finally found my 67 SWB!!!
Hell yeah, drop it in the dirt. My buddy sent me a link when that truck was for sale. I assure you if I had bought it the first thing done would be bags and 20/22's.
For those of you that believe keeping these trucks stock retains their value, you need to do some research.

Re: I finally found my 67 SWB!!!
In my post,I was the first to say I understand where he`s going. So,I`m not raggin`on Rag for lookin`to bag.
I think they are refering to the future. The more time that passes will add value to a well optioned truck like this, especially with many survivors not surviving this trend. This trend could go out (as trends do),but I`m sure there will always be a following. They say pro-street is out,but I`ll take that over a frame-layer anyday.I think a truck looks better pullin`the front end up and squatting the rear as it launches out is more beautiful than a truck sitting there with the frame on the ground. But,that`s my opinion.

Re: I finally found my 67 SWB!!!
The ground scraper thing is not going to add value when it comes to that particlur truck [or any other one in that good a shape]. Of course being his, he may not be interested in all that. While there is an outside chance he could recoup part of his investment selling the truck to another like minded truck fan, the odds are stacked against him.
Most everyone who messes with any classic vehicle [which I've been doing all my life] knows that you almost never get all of your investment back when you veer from stock on a vehicle like this. As I said though, it's his truck....he might be so into that look that he's going to bag it and scrape it anyway and that's his perogative. No one can blame some of us for trying to save one that clean though....it's part of the mindset some of us have.

When you finish thinking about it, what would you let the GMC go for? That is a beautiful truck.

Re: I finally found my 67 SWB!!!
Bagging is one thing ( my project truck is getting bagged for the ride comfort) Dragging the rockers and rear roll pan is totally in my own opinion. I know he is talking about bagging it for the same reasons as I am and he is not going to hack the truck up. If it could be returned to stock without any major fabrication or frame work then it shouldn't mess up the value of the truck at all. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion but in the end it is his truck and he will do what pleases him.
