Re: G/f's gonna kill me
I am wondering how it worked out after he "poked it". Usually makes my wife happy.

My wife understands....Thats why we are together. I have alot of hobbies that are Pricey$$ ang she is cool about them. I try to get her involved with crusin nights and racing...when she goes she enjoys it. She loves the outside and nice weather..so its works out for both of us.

Re: G/f's gonna kill me
my wife is crazy...had my 87 mustang gt that I had tons of money in it and it got totalled by some non driving punk and all she did was complain about the money I spent on it all the time...after it got totalled I said I was done with cars for a while. Well for my birthday last year I come home to find a vlassic pickle jar green 71 c10 in front of our apartment. She picked it out and is super excited about this one. Cars parts for all ocassions and she even helped with the cab mounts and rebuilding the steering column. something really hot about a hot chick with grease on her, lol.

Re: G/f's gonna kill me
Ahh yes, the infamous wife confusion. i have a strange one though. She loves cars, classics and new ones, and she loves it when I build her a sweet ride. But somehow she expects it to get done w/out actually spending time working on it. As she once said. She loves the final product, but hates the what it takes to get there. And to top it all off she really feels that if you are a classic vehicle owner you should really work on your own stuff!??!? Maybe she has dual personalities. You would think after 8 years of marriage and 14 years together i would have figured it out by now.

Re: G/f's gonna kill me
She's still your girlfriend right now so you have some time to see which one treats you better. Looks like a nice project to me.

Re: G/f's gonna kill me
I decided my one project was enough, and although that thing had some badass potential, I couldnt take on two project and be able to do all that I wanted to both of them...

Sounds like a logical financial move to me. Kdubb would have bought it though.

Re: G/f's gonna kill me
Maybe I'm a cheap bastard, but 1500 seemed a little steep for that banged up 'burb....I can pick one up right now, in better shape for 800 (It's a GMC though). I agree with Liz....you are whipped- she gave you a timeline that she would "allow" you to keep it around and you agreed to it......P.W. Fershizzle! Don't worrry- so am I. I've finally talked mine into allowing me to bring home a new cab (with 20" strech in it) home this weekend. It took me three weeks (fortunately the seller was very patient) and an agreement that it must be under the cover of one of those EZ-Up shelter dooey-bobs, so none of the neighbors, passers by or herself would have to see the and I quote- "F#@&kin' Ugly Piece of S#@t Sitting in our Driveway!" Can you tell she hates my hobby? But it's ok- 'cause she knows it makes me happy.....she just likes bustin' my balls about it anytime she can!

Re: G/f's gonna kill me
Out of all of this you should at least get some good advice.... especially since you are about to get married....so here it is;
"It is much easier to beg forgiveness than to be granted permission." This bit of info seems like it will help you down the road. BTW get a nice jar for the top of that refrig.Some things may spend quite a bit of time there,they should be comfortable.I actually have a spare set,they just don't show most of the time.
