Another one added to the fleet
Just picked up an 81 swb on the weekend. Been looking for one of these for years now. Finally found one up to my standards. Found it locally and happened to be from Georgia. Engine and tranny are both worked over. 350/350. 12 bolt rear. Air truck with full gauge package and tilt. Plans are a mild drop with wide meats.

Re: Another one added to the fleet
Nice lookin truck you've got there. You said it came locally? Has it been in the area long, I haven't seen it around before and I didn't see it advertised for sale. Oh well I just picked up an 83 on Friday so I guess I can't gripe about missing out on the opportunity .
Say I was just thinking, we should have a Sarnia/Lambton County get together for all of us guys addicted to this old truck thing . Just an informal meet/show type of thing.

Re: Another one added to the fleet
Wasn't listed for very long. I scooped it up quickly. I actually went and took a look at your truck a few weeks back. I know about 10 or so guys with these kind of trucks locally from selling/trading parts that are quite passionate about them.
Thanks for the comments. Gonna be hard to drive it with the gas prices though. Last edited by vern350; 04-17-2008 at 04:58 AM. |

Re: Another one added to the fleet
I figured you must have grabbed it quick, I am all over the old truck ads in the area, and didn't even see it advertised .
Yeah my truck had been for sale for awhile, but I thought the original asking price of $1500 was a little high. The price in the ad dropped last week because he needed it gone ASAP. Funny thing is, it turns out I knew the owner beforehand, but didn't realize it until I went to take a look at the truck. I wound up buying it for $600.

Re: Another one added to the fleet
Just an update as to how it looks before being put away for the year. Couple of changes since purchase. Hopefully over the winter, it gets alot closer to the ground with a new posi rear end. Decided to run these rims because of the tires being almost new and safe. Still up in the air what to do with rims. Enjoy the pictures.

Re: Another one added to the fleet
Thanks for the compliments. Almost no rust, theres a spot on the passenger
side kick that will need some attention. Its a new a rpm-air gap intake, the old one was a performer. |
