Two tone unveiled!!!!

I started this about 2 months ago. At that time my only plan was to sand down the roof and paint the roof with tractor supply paint.

Somehow, someway I ended up taking the whole thing down and repainting with urethane enamel.

It's my first time painting and was full of learning experiences.

There are a bunch of things I would do different, but overall I'd say it's an improvement and I'm satisfied. It still needs more work, wet sanding and buffing, trim installation, etc.

This picture was taken last night. I finished up painting on Sunday, spent Monday and Tuesday pulling all the tape off.

Just thought I'd share. (... and yes, my first thought after I stood back and looked at it was, "It looks like a skunk", but it grows on you!)

Looks great! I like the skunk idea too, sounds like a great personalized license plate idea.

I'd like to lower it, install some nice shiney wheels, tint the windows, install a 700r4, and who knows what else.

Re: Two tone unveiled!!!!

The sun? You gotta be joking!!!! Actually, I took it out today. Looks good in the sun as well. I do need to install the upper trim and wet sand the orange peel in the black, as well as a few runs in the white (just for starters)!!!

I get a warm fuzzy every time I go outside and see it!

Re: Two tone unveiled!!!!

I love that look. I also like the fact that you are running the trim below the windows. Looks awesome! The only thing that stands out at me as "taking some getting used to" is that fact that the tailgate has no white on it. But I suppose the only what to do that is via the Hart_Rod tail-light mod which allows the use of trim. Regardless of that; I'm jealous!

Re: Two tone unveiled!!!!

Hey all, thanks for the compliments and support. Sorry for it for taking so long to thank y'all. But life got in the way.

I actually haven't touched it again since the week before Thanksgiving. I have off all next week so I'll try and get it out and get some pics then.

I did end up getting some money (of the disposable sort) for Christmas so now I can get some of the parts I need, misc trim clips, delux blinkers, etc.

Hart Rod, did you you ever figure out how you were going to do the upper trim? Issues are the passenger side rear door and the driver side rear trim.

For the driver side upper rear trim my thought was to just use Longhorn upper trim, I think that should take care of it. On passenger door you can cut down a regular door trim piece but then you end up with a cut end. Thoughts?

Also, trying to sell some other toys off to raise money for the wheels and tires.

Thanks

I plan on doing the upper rear trim like you said. I'm going to call Mar-K and see if they will make me a custom piece. If not, I'll be making it myself. Looks great, can't wait to see the final product.

It's been a while, but I think it was someone in engineering. I'll look through my notes and see if I can find a name.
