Re: Show us your projects
Heh, seems my friend got told a fib about my 3 supposed '49s that were supposedly bought as a lot from the same dealer. I finally got around to checking the tags and 1 is a '50 from Canada, 1 is a '50 from Detroit and the last is a '51 from Flint.

Its a little rusty, but nothing that a little work can't fix.

Re: Show us your projects
Here's mine, I've been getting a lot of flack for going with a narrowed 1980 C10 front suspension, but its a low budget build so it will do, with 1 1/2 coils cut out and some 2 inch drop spindles.
will post a few more later

Re: Show us your projects
a few more
Before I pulled the 2 halfs together and finished welding them That's all for now. I had to take some time off from the project to concentrate on some college classes.

Re: Show us your projects
Here is my moms 57' chevrolet. She got it when she was 16, had to pic around 16000 square bales for it. She drove it for 2 years then moved to the big city and my uncle blew the engine up on her. The truck means everything to my mom. i have been slowly buying parts for it, or i should say horse trading stuff for it. trying to keep it low budget. updated suspension from something else and a 283 with a 700r4 behind it. have a s-10 chassis also with the 4.3 and 700r4. not sure which way to go. gonna leave it original outside but fix the rust and put a sign on the door for out farm. let mom enjoy it. hopefully have enough stuff to start it next year.My mom does not know i am doin this, it will be a total suprise for her. anyways here is some pics.

Re: Show us your projects
Hello All,
This is my first post. This 56' is my 14yr old daughters' truck; it is our first build any kind. She found this truck on her own with no pressure from me. Goal is to have it ready for when she's driving for High School. But, hope to have it done in a year. We stripped it down last weekend. We'll be on this site for lots of advice, so thanks in advance for everyone's assistance. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG] |

Re: Show us your projects
Hey guys, 1959 shortbed fleetside apache owner here.
Had it since '05, been workng on it here & there but mostly cruising it around and enjoying it for the time being. Planning to install a new 350 sometime this spring/summer and also if money/time permits install an air bag suspension. Engine specs: Two bolt main 350 block - stock bore & stroke EB Performer intake manifold topped with an EB 600cfm carb & 14" K&N air filter. Mid-performance 441 cast iron GM heads Corvette Ram Horn exhaust manifolds... not running headers unless I figure out a way to clear the steering box. Engine internals include Comp Cams Xtreme Energy cam (mild cam nothing too special) Comp Cams brand hydraulic lifters, pushrods, springs, rockers etc all matched up for this specific cam. Stock crank & rods, mid performance pistons Here's some photos of what I got going on: |

Re: Show us your projects
Here is my project. It will probably stay the way it is until I get finished with school and get some money saved up. Thinking that I will do an S-10 swap and a small block V8 and leave the body alone. Then whenever a kid comes along turn it into a project for them.

Re: Show us your projects
Nice looking truck. I like your plans for it also. Wish I would have done that; left my body alone.

Here's my 59 GMC....
Getting ready to Z the previously installed 75 Camaro subframe up 2 more inches. Rear is notched pretty large and I have a custom 4-link going together for it. Engine is fuel injected LS1, probably gonna be twin turbo'd. Plan is for a decent daily driver |

Re: Show us your projects
This is the build and first fire of my now 16 year old son's '54 Chevy truck. The bed and grille are from the '54 my mom had when I was 8 years old in 1977.
No sound until it fires. Then the first drive... Last edited by Dan Bowles; 11-20-2009 at 11:38 PM. |
