Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Looks a lot better with the map pockets!!! Especially when installed & next to the seats!!! Forgot to mention it, but I agree with the others - lose the bed cover - it looks so clean without it & you did the paint matching in the bed liner too - why hide it???

Right on thanks for all the input guys! As far as the rear window.... Which reminds me I gotta take a pic of the inside channel and pinch weld, I finally got that rubber piece that covers everything. It looks really nice. I had a well known glass company that usually just does hotrods high end stuff do the rear one for me. He basically said its a floating window. There's no stands or anything for the glass to sit on. He did it just like the old school cars and put one layer of sealant and let it dry to act as the mounting surface then the next day he filled in the gap and waited for it to dry then he did the outside finishing work to make it look even smooth and basically a triple seal around the glass. Honestly I like the look of the bowtie, keeps things different but with that said it would need to be on black panels instead
edit: maybe also a silver trim around the bowtie with black panels

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Wow it looks amazing! Nice work! Another vote for the map pockets, and I could go either way on the tonneau. I think it'll look slick once it's painted...

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Truck is looking amazing! I liked the bowtie on the panel, but the red just didn't look right. Black would be good, or run with the pockets. They go really well with the rest of the interior.
As for the bed cover...I say when it's painted it will be a nice feature that you can have on there, or take off when you want. Looks awesome either way in my opinion. |

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Dennis,
The hood looks great on there. I hope don't decide to put a cowl hood on it...just my .02 I like the rear window. I'm curious about the trim they used on it? Wonder where they got that? Also, did they use urethane to hold the glass in? |

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Truck looks great Dennis, as I have said 100 times
IMO, the map pockets and arm rest need to be the same color as the door panels, the trim can stay black as it ties everything else together very well..the other things black are just too much IMO. DEfinately lose the bowtie...too cheesy and it doesn't match anything else at all...looks like an afterhought. Just my opinion brother. ![]()
