Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
rongstad, i'll draw one up for you. just give me a few days... 50+hrs at work this week and next.
btw, how many wires are run to your sending units?? when i was at pick in pull i was looking at an '82 1 ton diesel with duel tanks and it looked like it had the same set up as the '87's. not sure if it was an '80's thing or what. i checked everything from the switching valve to the inside switch. everything was the same... after some searching i was luck enough to find an '87 with the bed off so it was easier for me to pull off than the diesel... just a thought man. and something else i thought was cool is the tranny xmember on the 1 ton had duel humps for the exhaust and a single hole mount that looked to be perfect for the 4l80e's! the only problem i could see is i think the frame rails look taller than the 1/2 tons. if someone were to take off the extra mount on the xmember itself i think it would work.

That crossmember looks great buddy. I got lucky and was able to move my factory one back. Even had the holes in the frame already.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
the fuel lines and fuel system really turned out nice and clean. very happy with it so far. just waiting on the headers so i can finish routing the steel braided line to the fuel rail.

Nice!!! Looks like they all fit nice. Did they all have the rubber hose or did you have to do that part?

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
![]() well... speartech's phone manners suck along with their prices, wait4me's phone has had a busy signal since 10am, left a message at current performance, and John from nelson performance was very nice, had a decent price and was very informative. also looked up the painless harness... $1000. no thanks! so nelson performance said they dont lengthen the wires(i can do that), they include relays and fuse block and they will adapt my esky harness for the 4l80e for $450.... then the tune for $150. they also just clip the wires like wait4me... i need to call back and find out who foots the bill for the shipping. i wish Jess and Hannah would put the phone down ![]()

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
I checked with Nordstroms Performance, (I think that's right). They will build you a custom wiring harness. It comes to $980.00. It includes a fuse block and all relays. All you have to plug it in and go. The price includes the ecm programming as well. Spoke with a guy named Russ yesterday.

Also, had to go to Dallas and did not have time to get one of the seats out of the blazer to weigh it.

Gotta have something to strap yourself to, especially when press the pedal on the right all the way to the floor.

Dennis, check this out for your harness, he custom makes what you want at a reasonable price!
Originally Posted by 68 short step Re: LS Engine Harness' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- yelp, ive done quite a few harness...and i get lots of PMs on this matter so ill just post some prices.... on LS engines (4.8 5.3 5.7 6.0 6.2 7.0) what i do is re-pin/re work your factory harness...i totally dissassemble the haness (seperate all the wires/ connectors), delete all the un-nessacery wires by removing them totally from the PCM, not by just cutting them and terminating them (dont laugh ive seen it done ), re-route the wires to go to the back of the engine for a cleaner look (stock truck engines have them coming off the front/side of the engine, not plesent to look at), also add a smaller fuse block for a cleaner look over factory, you get A/C circuit ran for the 'standard' price ( some places charge extra), and circuits for electric fans (not everyone will run electric fans, but the circuity will be there incase they want to in the future). i give 20 " of lead on the MAF wires (this is about perfect for most aftermarket air intakes), there are only a few wires for the end user to hook-up and they are - switch 12volts (hot in run and crank) - battery voltage (constant hot) - ground - fuel pump positive lead - TCC switch. this wire ties into the brake switch.. -----GUAGES ----- -speedo -tach -oil pressure - water temp - A/C clutch sw. (if running a/c) the prices are for a LS series engines with a 4L60e or 4L80e trans. for a cable drive throttle body, its 470$ and for a DBW its 50$ extra (520$).this includes the mini-style fuse/relay block... i can also get your computer tuned for a great street performer for an additional 125$
