Re: ppl without a/c

It doesn't get that hot here except for maybe 4-6 weeks a year. When it gets that hot I use my DD conversion Van for a truck. It has ice cold air, gets about 8 MPG better mileage, and it aint a Chevy either. It's the kind that those "boys" supposedly have more fun.

Just don't open the rear slider going that fast if you have a truck load of landscape mulch in the back.

Re: ppl without a/c

Yeah since mine is not my DD it's not that big of a deal. However, in my old truck when I didn't have the A/C it was terrible . Here in Oklahoma the humidity is terrible. One thing that did help, was having a sliding back window. It didn't help a lot, but it did get some good airflow going. So that is why with the new engine the A/C is not far behind in priorities.

Re: ppl without a/c

I beat the heat by rolling down the windows, opening the floor vents, and opening the slider a few inches. Who needs A/C? It just robs power.

Re: ppl without a/c

i roll down the windows... its just like rolling a joi .... nevermind... anyhow, even on my newer vehichles ive had, i just roll the windows down.. but i live in the desert so its a "dry heat" (yeah whatever).. once i moved to so cal i knew i had it made, we usually only get up to 100 or 105 in the middle of summer, its waaay better then phoenix arizona (lived there for 24 years) its regularly 115 to 120 or so in the summer.. and yes the a/c works in all my vehicles, i only use it for really long road trips... ha ha... just my $.02

Re: ppl without a/c

Yo! Cough, cough, cough. Damn, time to roll down the windows, man!
That's what I do! Or,...well,...I mean,...FRANKENTRUCK has vent windows and floor vents in addition to the side windows, so it does very well,...and this is Colorado, so A/C is rarely needed. Even my '76 Camaro is an A/C "delete" of my doing. The two are my daily drivers, depending on the weather.
What kills me is my vinyl seats in the Camaro! FRANKENTRUCK has a bench seat cover to protect the new upholstery, but I like the Camaro's upholstery naked and I stick to the vinyl all the time during the summer. Oh, well, keeps me alert for those quick passes on the two-lane!
Nice, dammitmitchell!
I paid my debt to society aboard the USS California CGN-36. It was an air conditioned "Cadillac" of nuke boats!
Todd.

Yo! pokethesmot!
Yeah, but you're in Georgia! Been there,...the combination of your heat and humidity would suffocate me in short order!!
Iraq is beyond my comprehension (as was the thought of Vietnam)!!

Re: ppl without a/c

Nothing like driving a steaming hot UPS truck all day, and then driving home a no AC truck that has been sitting on asphalt all day.

Oh, and another thing. I get home and the wife has all the windows open, she thought the "breeze" felt good. Fine, go outside!

Rant Over.

LOL

Yo! S10Fan!
Newport news!! Geeze, I was drydocked there for an eternity! The USS California CGN-36 that I was assigned to '76-'80 was stationed in Norfolk and I'm glad that we spent most of our time on Med/North Atlantic/Caribbean cruises!! "Steaming" describes the climate accurately! And provides quite the pun considering what my ship did most of the time!
