Chevys From Texas Showdown
I tried to get a picture of every C10 I saw (good or bad). Here they are in no particular order.

Re: Chevys From Texas Showdown
The top was chopped and the door was cut almost in half and the lower half was welded up smooth.

Re: Chevys From Texas Showdown
Well I appreciate the skill and work invloved, but none of these really fit my personality. The only ones of those that looks right are the red 71? and the last one (and that needs to be un-lowered). None of them would survive my daily commute. Gotta admit the dark silver/red caught my eye, but the wheels - no... can't have any inner fenders left, and gravel roads would destroy it.
I will be soo happy when the stupidly large wheel fad is over, and we can get back to trucks that look like trucks not confused cars. This was great though, now I know I don't want a full width tube type grille. I do like the 88-91 fronts and I guess I'll have to get a couple more (I have 2 already but have more trucks than that...). Thanks for the photos, always nice to see other's approaches.

Re: Chevys From Texas Showdown
Thanks for sharing the pics. Some of those trucks are awesome. I always enjoy seeing the old Chevys at carshow ans seeing all the work that goes into them.

Re: Chevys From Texas Showdown
Yeah great looking pics. Looks like the show was a good one, and a good turn out of older trucks.

Re: Chevys From Texas Showdown
The black one wasn't just primer. I am not sure if it was paint with a flat clear or what but it had a hint of metal flake in it that I think was in the clear. I am kind of partial to the last white one myself but I think my favorite was the maroon one with the blower on it.

Re: Chevys From Texas Showdown
Great pics! The blue 70 with a 67 front clip is a board members truck, I can't remember his name right off, but I have a TON of pics from his build thread saved on this computer. I drew a lot of inspiration from that build for my 68 build. It was also in an issue of Classic Trucks magazine.
