Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video
The members from Argentina really get into the inline 6's. They simply can't afford the V8's they say. They have a race series down there that have turbo'd sixes.
Your project is very cool, can't wait to see and hear the truck after your finished as well. We used pistons for a 307 small block in my 250 motor. 1.94 intake and 1.88 exhaust valves. It's just a lot of fun, and more so, it's not a V8

Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video
Last week I started digging in the garage for the turbo I have been saving for my next 63 engine ....If it only makes 5-8 psi it should still make a 250 feel like a V8............maybe better...Keep us informed...

Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video
i finished up the throttle wire cable pulley pivot system. I wanted to try to use the original gas pedal and firewall linkage. I fabbed up a bracket fastened to the carb stud with a pulley that acts as a pivot for the throttle linkage. It works well, moves smoothly, opens min. to max well with no play.

Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video
I plan on locking the HEI out around the 20 degree mark. I have a AEM wideband coming, so some major tuning soon. Lockout for now. Possibly a BTM box in the future.

Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video ** update
I am finally getting this thing tuned. I installed a HEI advance kit with the light weights and the strong springs. I set the timing to 12 deg and it is fully in at 25 deg. big thanks to TLOWE (inline turbocharging guru) for getting me in the right direction. I took it out and it is awesome. I have yet to push it or go WOT. I am trying to lower the boost to max out at 7psi. Here is a short vid of a drive by.

Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video
Are you using any vacuum advance or just initial +mechanical to have all-in at 25*?

Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video
the total 25 degrees is : initial 12 plus 13 mechanical. I have the vacuum plugged. TLOWE has informed me to hook up the vacuum, it will help with cruising. I will mess with that later, I am having too much fun right now.

Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video
Your truck is awesome! I have been tinkering with my 67 for over 2 years now and want to put a turbo on it. I have the turbo along with a clifford 4bbl intake and headers but not sure which direction to go. Your idea with the stock intake/exhaust look like a good alternative I hadn't even considered. Any updates? Keep up the great work. Subscribed

Re: Inline 250 - T3 Turbo - w/ Video
Quote:
I wanted to keep the stock look of the intake/exhaust manifolds, just make them flow better. I hogged the factory 1bbl out to accept a 2bbl. I figured I would try it, if it didn't work, I would buy an Offenhauser. It seems to be working just fine. I believe with the Clifford, you cannot run the factory exhaust manifold, so running a simple J-pipe, as a charge pipe to the turbo would not work. I have changed the springs out in the HEI and it runs even better. I had the heavy springs and it was not advancing quickly enough, causing a rich bog. I may even try the lightest springs and see how it reacts. I switched out the 31 for a #28 squirter and changed the accelerator pump cam to the white one in position 1. It is all fine tuning from here on, the AEM uego is a huge help. I highly recommend.
