Tried to install my new turn signal switch but it was messed up from the manufacturer. Hopefully I can fix it myself and get it in tomorrow.

Finished the 3/5 drop today, the kids sanded on their pinewood derby cars, touched up the interior heater housing with some semigloss black and worked on my dash bezel. Been a good day so far!

Magwakeenercre2jh, what did you use to remove the markings off the original plastic lens prior to installing your tach?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Removed the master cylinder/booster as an ass'y, then pulled the cab off of the chassis. While we had it in our hands, we turned it onto the firewall and loaded it into the trailer....that wouldn't haul it any other way. Good thing, because the firewall is swiss cheese.
After that, it was time to start getting the brake/fuel lines off and begin the scraping/wire brushing to get the excess stuff off before spraying it with cleaner/degreaser and hitting it with the pressure washer. Got more done in two Sunday afternoons, than has been done in two years. Bonding with my son......it's a great thing!

wire with the ends cut on the bias and pressed in with a touch of glue. The logo is my motorcycle "club"...a sticker reduced on th e printer, cut out and glued to the black face of the aftermarket tach.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
My woman bought this for me for The Valentine's Hallmark Holiday. Good trade for some flowers and candy, huh?
http://tinyurl.com/46dtyt6 I'm headed over to the shop in an hour to change out the rear brake shoes. I've never done it before. Bought new shoes, checked the drums for "gouges", and I got some brake cleaner and a hefty little tool for the springs. Anybody have any tips or warnings? After taking the drums off, where's the best place to start unhooking stuff? The air cleaner's going on this:

Don't count on any spring tool to be less frustrating than a pair of pliers. Good luck! I'm debating whether to drop the inner fender to get at the heater core or a handful of more productive small projects.

Right also on the spring tool. Crap! Waste of seven bucks. Needle nose pliers and vice grips and two screw drivers (one big and one smaller). That was the ticket. It was a PIA. Maybe the passenger's side will be easier. I hope. I bolted up the 1" spacer (95 lbs. torque..exactly). I'm getting back under it tomorrow to weld the roll pan, so I left the wheel off for now. Back into the cab for yet another mock-up. Thanks for the tip. Pictures are ALWAYS a good idea. I should ALWAYS do it whenever there's more than one part!
