What you said was not very clear except that your a fan of the 67 Pickup. Here is the thing when I start a resto I Expect it to be rolling out the door in three months as a new Truck. Now this GTO is a whole new chapter in Bodywork (Compound Curves) Curves that Disapear and start again in different places and of course the unforseen rust that will poke its ugly head out when you least expect it. That being said I have made my decision that I will restore the 67 Short Fleet and probably drive it for a couple of years so I can get my enjoyment out of it. Then maybe Donate it to my Son In Law who is probably heading to afganistan the end of this year. I have restored a 64 Chevy Short Fleet for one of my Sons and now am finishing a 69 Long Fleet for my Oldest Son. I have learned a whole new respect for my Sons and their tallents and patients in restoring these old trucks. Not to mention just the fact that I get to spend time with them. Dont get me wrong, I love these old trucks but I Love the time I get to spend with my sons doing them more.

red69ss,
I think I really lucked out with this car. But trust me there is plenty of bodywork to do on this thing. I am going to have it Media Blasted and then start from there. I cant find any filler in this thing and the two major places this thing is rusted is the Floor Pans and around the tail lites. I can buy a complete new floorboard for this thing and I can also buy a replacement panel for the tail lites. This guy I bought it from is getting on his 74 foot sailboat with his wife and not coming back according to him. I paid $4K for this and I have just about two of everything for this car including the Stainless Steel Moldings which are supper hard to find for these cars. The Truck needs rockers, cab corners and some floor work. The Bed is almost perfect and the tailgate needs a little help with some dents. The bottom of the doors are going to need to be reskined so it needs help. Both projects are going to be labor intensive but I am restoring the Truck to sell it and the car is for me.

great deal on the car you stole it! if your building the truck to sell do it first then you'll have more money to spend on the gto and as you already know pontiacs are expensive to build.

Re: I have 2 67's not sure which one to restore first?

Thanks JR, here is a web site that has the color codes with the optional top paint code. http://ultimategto.com/cgi-bin/stats...7&f1=clrmatrix The project truck was originally going to be a "Yenko 427 ST" before I got the Camaro, then I decided to give him the truck and he doesn't need 550 h.p. so that motor is going in the Camaro. The LT1 is right around 425 h.p., thats still to much for the kid so he gets the lowest h.p. rated one I have left. lol. Maybe if I turned my back or ran in to get us a cold beer, you could swap them real fast. OH WAIT, I have a fridge in the garage.

Re: I have 2 67's not sure which one to restore first?

I noticed when I opened the Convertible top Manually that a very important peice is missing. The stainless steel molding that goes at the top of the window is missing. I went back out to the guys house where I bought the car but being that he has about 3000 peices of molding setting around in total CAOS I cant see myself finding it. I have to take a friend of mine that has been restoring these GTO's for the last 30 years because knowing him he will walk through and find everything I missed in 15 minutes. I also found what I think are the original doors for the car but I wont know until I get my friend to look at them. I did a little number tracing and found out this car was White with a Black Top and Black Interior. Cant see myself painting it back to original so I think I am either going with dark blue metalic or black with a black top and a white interior Or Parchment. Hijack away. Any car talk to me is good stuff.
