I'm flattered!!.....Thats exactly what I thought when I first dropped mine, then it kept getting lower and lower untill I couldn't drive it over anything or get a jack under it. So I bagged the front so I could raise it up to get it in the garage and get a jack under it. The back end is still a static drop as I plan on bagging the rear this spring and do the rest gradually as money becomes available. But eventually I want to be able to set this thing on the ground...good luck with yours.

Nice Longbed...

I didnt measure my truck before hand but I would say a half coil is about .5-1" drop.

That wont be going in until I get the porter built drop member.. I dont want to put the motor in and take it out more then once. I want to put it in once and be done. Plus I need to have the firewall shaved.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Hopefully the rear wheels will get here next week. The place I bought the wheels from is waiting for the company that milled them to send them the wheels so they can send them to me....

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Thanks Max! I remember back when Red Rocker was first introduced way back when! I followed that build from start to finish and might still have all the old Magazines. It was the truck that got me hooked on square bodies! You were lucky enough to buy it!

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Yea i am lucky! Never thought Id own it thats forsure. It was in my list of dream cars; number 1 at that too! I still have all my mags from when it was being built and featured. Even managed to get plaques from IN THE NEWS of the mag feature: same ones Travis has. Pretty cool. Travis is a wicked guy himself. I finally met him this year at sema. Its cool to have contact with all the guys who made RR happen. Anyway ill stop ramblin and jackin your thread.

Again killer truck, and I need another! haha Im jeleous. Whats the future plans?

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Future plans? hmm.. Well, Im coming for ya! Red Rocker better watch out! LOL! jk, Starting in January, Im doing a full on build. Full Porterbuilt setup, 14" Wilwoods all 4 corners, built 454, 22s all around (All ready have the rears ordered just waiting for them to get to me), Body work and paint, completely redoing the interior.. etc etc. Going to pretty much rebuild the truck so its all new.

Should be fun, Im projecting 2-3 yrs Completion time.

The truck is on jack stands right now, but when I had the 20s on the truck they were probably 4-5 inches off the ground. I had plenty of ground clearance with everything on the truck. The lowest part of the truck was the section of my exhaust, where it comes done from the headers then back up to the Cat. I had about 2.5-3"s clearance from the ground and I always hit the exhaust on certain things. I knew I was going to be swapping out the motor so I never had the exhaust done.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

This is the first time seeing your truck on here but like everyone else has said you nailed it! Perfect stance, wheels, and the blue looks awesome. I had a truck in high school that was the same metallic blue and have loved it ever since. The torque thrust II's were going to be my next wheels but I'm not so sure now after seeing the Eagle 225's on yours. Thanks for sharing the great pics!

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Thanks, I actually almost regret selling them. I would of been further along with the project if I would have just kept them thats for sure! If you are thinking about getting these, just a heads up but I would get a 20x8.5 with a 5" backspace. I had the ones with a 4.5" Backspace and it was just too close for comfort. Always was worrying about turning on an incline and rubbing the lip.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Thanks for the heads up. Yeah I know what you mean about being scared of rubbing the lip, I scuffed my wheel a little bit on my 85. It's a sickening feeling when that happens would rather not have to worry about that happeningl. I searched on ebay for the Eagle 225's last night and the first set that popped up had a couple pictures of your truck in the ad! Haha
