What did you get done 8/15/2010
I didnt get anything truck related done this week.. Saturday i drove to CT to hartford comcast center to see Brooks and Dunn and Sara Evans. Show was good but the arena wasnt so wonderful plus the hotel we were at was horrid. Tomorrow Sue has her scan to see about her cancer and how its doing and im a freakin wreck
I hope all is well with you and yours.. What did you all get done this weekend?

Re: What did you get done 8/15/2010
Bob, good luck on the cancer scan hope it's nothing to worry abut (even though you will, like I would).
This past week I installed an Edelbrock carb #1406 on my daily putt-putt, so nice to have it running clean. I used the Edelbrock stock manifold to carb kit and it made it nice as everything was there for installation. Bought the throttle cable/trans cable studs & it went on with ease. Next is time to lower the truck (finally) and cruise it. For anyone who is afraid to install a carb on your own, its easy! Gotta love |

Re: What did you get done 8/15/2010
My neighbor of 15 years passed away Saturday morning, Bill had been sick for the last couple years. He had emphysema and heart issues. I'm going to miss him!
Went to a car show Saturday, nearly 300 cars, trucks, and motorcycles for the 11th annual MDA Roundup to support Jerry's Kids. The Heap won a Top 25 in the 73 and up class. Spent Sunday catching up on a week's worth of weed eating, grass cutting and garage cleaning.

Re: What did you get done 8/15/2010
Worked Saturday, then came home and hung the valve body on the truck. Buttoned it up this morning and it shifts, sort of. But the diesel busted off on the first crank after sitting for 2 months. And the AC still works! Now I'm getting the barn and garage ready for the new doors. Got a lot of stuff to move in the garage including a tractor like the one in my sig, only in a lot more pieces!

Re: What did you get done 8/15/2010
bought another CUCV, changed a front fender, removed all the auxilary wiring for the generator that's no longer in the back, adjusted front fender alignment so door closes properly.

We spent a lot of time at the beach. Rented a boat and a Seadoo and went to Crab Island.

When the rain came, we ducked in to one of the local restaurants, theaters, or just hung out on the balcony of the house we rented.

Keith and I bought some brackets on line to use for our front brake lines. That's about the only "truck" related thing I can add.

Accomplished making great fires, relaxing, eating drinking,, swimming, looking at hot women, spending time with family/friends before I leave in a week to Texas for 6 months for some military training at Sheppard AFB. Truck accomplished: bringing firewood to campsite, turning heads, jump starting dad's dead Yukon battery, and getting 18 mpg highway trip

Re: What did you get done 8/15/2010
I got the 83 beater back from the upholster shop with new carpet. I/we covered the transmission hump and outside bumps under the seat with Walmart exercise mat, and I put in my Huskyliners - so the new carpet is all covered with vinyl/rubber mat of some sort (except under the seat).
Also finally installed the homemade speaker boxes for the cab corners and some new 4" JVC speakers. I can now use the 4 speaker fade feature on the Alpine head unit. Also (best part) installed my homemade oak storage box for the triangular area behind the cab. I used some black vinyl tool box matting to line the shelves, and mounted the 6 disc Alpine CD changer to it. Looks pretty good. |

I went and picked up another truck. Also made a trade deal on my ccsb with 1972supercheyenne. You can see his build thread in the project forum. Here's a link to my new toy.

Had a test fit done on the new wheels to see if the tire I wanted will work. It'll work, I'll be buying them in a few weeks.
