Here are some pics of my 57 GMC panel. I am trying to find out if the core support will interchange between Chevy and GMC. Anyone out there know the answer?

I know yours is a 57 but for my 59 I pulled a 58/59 GMC radiator core support out of a GMC and compared it the one in my 59 with broken cross braces. I could not see an difference in the mounting holes for frame, radiator or sheet metal. Some of the stamping was a little different, but that may have just been different supplier or production run. Might have also been the difference between 58 and 59. I mocked it up (its in my build thread) and the radiator fit (mine is out of a 2.5 ton truck).

In order to use a 55-57 Chevy core suport on a GMC you will need to add the brackets that are riveted on the Chevy frame that the core support bolt too.

Yes, Yes I do have a 55 panel!!!!! It is a project truck and it is next in line behind the 86 GMC i'm working on now. I have some Photos some where I will Look for them and let you look.

It has more bondo in it than pep-boys. First I need to pull the frame and box it, install I four link with coil overs. Lower the front but keep the stright axel. install a OG 235 Inline 6 with 3 on the tree. Fresh Green paint. Rust removal and drive it like I stole it because I almost did. Are you going to keep yours
4x4 I think they look cool any way you go as long as they are on the road.

Funny... Nope another project fell into my lap that I could not pass up. I'm hoping that the '53 s-10 swap will get me something old to drive pretty quick.

Yes. I am keeping it 4 X 4. Dana 60 in front and corp 14 in the rear. I have been working on body work for weeks... it seems in the past 50 some years everybody that need to run a wire in this old truck just drilled another hole. Now I have the task of fixing them. I have had a great time so far and love the site for support. It's nice to chat with others that work all day and build trucks at night.

Boy you are getting it done and with a quickness!!!! I love it. 4X4 Panel its to cool. The only problem I have is............ "I WORK NIGHTS, AND WORK ON TRUCKS DURING THE DAY" does that mean I have to find another site?????

Anyone out there know what the difference is between a 1957 Chevy fender and a GMC. All the info that I have found says they are different but no explanation of why. I am trying to decide if I should rework my existing GMC fender or try to make a Chevy work.

Looks good. I had a dark green 57 panel with a strong 327 in it in the early 70's when I lived in Texas that was a lot of fun.
