Re: faux-tina paint jobs
The lack of dents and no rust in the fender pockets are always a clue.

Re: faux-tina paint jobs
I agree that the lack of dents and scratches are a big giveaway. Say you do the metal work and patch work good but leave some of the dents and other slight damage that comes with time, as is, not repaired. Then enhance those imperfections with your faux-tina work… perhaps then it would seem more natural.
This is a faux job we did last year. Looking forward to doing better the next time, already got it in the works… |

This one for example, it looks to have some rotted out areas. Also, I wonder if they didn't line up the bed and fenders to the cab deliberately.

Re: faux-tina paint jobs
I was just looking at some pics on Pinterest, saw what looks like your rig, or its your twin, same dents in the tool box etc. Only difference was the sign on the door. It's linked to eBay.

It has been a fun truck to own, many people stop by the house and want to buy it for their business. I put air ride on then installed an ls with a 4l80. The cost of all that freaks out the people who think they can take it home for 2 grand! Posted via Mobile Device |
