This is the work of Jerome Borris-a true master of the craft. Its not actually 'fake patina' but patina paint as an art form. Also check out his airbrush work. Amazing!

The lack of dents and no rust in the fender pockets are always a clue.

Re: faux-tina paint jobs

I agree that the lack of dents and scratches are a big giveaway. Say you do the metal work and patch work good but leave some of the dents and other slight damage that comes with time, as is, not repaired. Then enhance those imperfections with your faux-tina work… perhaps then it would seem more natural.

This is a faux job we did last year. Looking forward to doing better the next time, already got it in the works…

Floor boards, kicker panels, roof and cowl I say fix, but rust, or even some rot at lower door corners, cab corners, or the rear lower portion of the hood, I think could be left alone. I mean it's a faux-tina paint job.
This one for example, it looks to have some rotted out areas. Also, I wonder if they didn't line up the bed and fenders to the cab deliberately.

I was just looking at some pics on Pinterest, saw what looks like your rig, or its your twin, same dents in the tool box etc. Only difference was the sign on the door. It's linked to eBay.

There are a few pictures floating around out there from when it was for sale before I got it. Some were of s wheel ad and others were from the original ad.

It has been a fun truck to own, many people stop by the house and want to buy it for their business. I put air ride on then installed an ls with a 4l80.

The cost of all that freaks out the people who think they can take it home for 2 grand!

Yeah right, 2k. It's a sweet pick up, would make for good advertising for a construction company, not to mention a functional work truck. There's a plumber around here with a clean 55-59 utility bed. He chirped second gear when I took this pic.
