Re: Looking for a crate 350

I got decent mpg with mine, what's it going in? If you get something a little under powered for what you need it might reflect mpg in a negative way too. What carb would you like to run?

To clarify guys, I realize a vast majority of the people who buy these engines have nothing but good luck with them and I'm glad to hear it. Whoever decides to get one I'm sure it will be fine. In short, it will be tough to build he same engine you can buy for the 260hp price point.

If GMPP made 50,000 of these long block assy, 260/290hp doesn't matter.. if there's a bad one in the bunch I will get it. I just got the one bad one out of 50,000.. your odds are really good with these engines.

It's like anything else. A TV, a toaster, makes no difference .. a bad experience leaves a bad taste in your mouth and you usually never buy that product again. It's just my luck. Nothing at all against GMPP, but I was told that unless a GM dealer or ASE certified mechanic installed my engine then the warranty doesn't apply.. regardless of terms. 12/12,000 or 24mo, etc. Makes no difference. Maybe Summit was wrong? No biggie.

I fixed it. I'm happy, the engine is running strong now. Good luck with which ever engine you choose to buy. I agree, these engines are tough to beat for the price.
