Are the dark shaded areas just etched or are they painted?

Re: started working on the 65 suburban
There are 2 pieces the back is solid the top is laser cut and there is a space between them so what I want to do is put some leds between the two pieces and have the outline of the suburban light up also the cut out that says the shop.I hope that makes sence.they actually scanned a photo of my suburban and converted it to a line drawing it is very detailed I think it is very cool!

Re: started working on the 65 suburban
I really like the lights in the walls. My uncle used to paint a lot of cars and had that kind of set up. I wish I got along with him I need a lot of bodywork. lol

Re: started working on the 65 suburban
Thanks donthekawguy!!!! the lights in the walls make a huge difference when working even if you don't do paint and body work also they are easy to put up. every one that has come into the garage comments on how bright the lighting is.

Re: started working on the 65 suburban
I can't tell for sure, but it appears as if you have the window locks for the rear sliders installed...are they the originals or did you find them somewhere? i am in the throes of doing a resto-mod on a '65 as well and one of the sliders was missing the locks when i picked it up. thanks and your burb looks incredible!

Re: started working on the 65 suburban
The Burb slider latches are not reproduced, and it is hard to find originals. And when you do find them they are $$$. I believe there are some in the '60-'66 classifieds here on the forum.
I see you're over in Spokane, I'm in CDA Quote:
