Arrow My 85 chevy c10 build

I picked this truck up back in august 10. I got it running and drove it for about a month. Then it sat at my friends house for 3 months waiting for some body work but we never got.around to it. Now i have cracked down and im ready to start the fun stuff. Truck has a 350 with a small cam. The interior is pretty bad it will need total redoing. The guy who had it before me took the leafe springs off so there was one coming from each way not giving kuch axle clearance at all. Then the front was a little higher.so I cut a.spring off. Bad choice. This made the truck look a little more level but made for an even worse ride. Also there was a five gallon plastic fuel tank in the bed with no tank under the truck. so i bought a new 16 gallon and a sending unit and got that hooked up. also the long tube headers were hitting everytime i hit a bump. So i replaced them with a pair of block huggers. Now to fix the suspension I have on the way somewhere in a ups truck....a DjM 5/5 drop kit. and i ordered some nitro 2 drop shocks from stylintrucks.com which csme in last friday. Also i broke my driver window because the door was sprung. I had to slam it and the inside was rotted out and rusted. i picked up a pair of electric doors and a bed on craigslist for 300. Mthe original bed had two huge dents, so im happy with the fix. So I got the doors on. anyone use thisbdrop kit.?? Ill be posting pics as i go. Thanks for looking

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build

Someone tell me if I'm right or wrong? On the power Windows.inside the door is there a little spot where the wire hooks to the motor? Like a plastic end snaps in it? Where could I buy this wire at so I can hook my power up? Thanks

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build

Yeah the block hugger didnt want to fit...lol I had to make a small cut on the motor mount. And yeah Joe that would be sweet, few more weeks and I'm gonna be on the road. I gotta have that window a/c!!
I got the truck exterior primed tonight. Looks a little better then it did before, then I transformed the door panels into some pretty sweet ones, I didnt even plan on using them they looked really nasty, but I'm glad I did... but my phone died before I could snap the final piece. So ill show what i got.

Here is the headers you wanted. If you can tell on the secon pic, that back side of the motor mount was touching so I cut the edge off. Fit right in. : )

Here is the door panels.I came up with last night . They came with the doors I got on Craigslist they were originally maroon. I sanded them and painted them. It came out pretty good I thought.

IMAG0170 by catkinson896, on Flickr
Threw in a seat from a 79 I traded the old doors for it. And I sprayed the inside black.kinda got in a hurry but ill fix.it when I paint I just wanted it all one color.
Hopefully my lowering kit will be here this week and I can put up some pics on that.

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build

Door looks cool....if you left the interior flat black and got a burgundy dash cover for it until you decide on paint colors it would look awesome!!!

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build

I think I might. I need a new dash mine is pretty bad but that would work till I can get one. I think ill just leave it primer for a while and start saving for a paint job!

Yeah
The flat panels look nice

I have one of the power window motor plugs, I guess I tossed the other one.
You can have this one if you want it. PM me your number and I'll text you. I just live a few blocks from the 7-11 where I saw you the other day.

Wink Re: My 85 chevy c10 build

Got the flip kit on the rear. It lowered it another 2 inches. Then I put the bed on and bolted it up. Here is a few pics of the drop. I will do the front probably this weekend. The spindles will be here on Tuesday. Let me know what you think or if I should go more??

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build

Looks good dude!!
I'd say get the front dropped and drive it for a week or 2 to see how it rides before going lower....do you have plenty of room between the axle and frame?
