Re: Vintage picture thread
My SIL digitzed thousands of slides we found in my mothers possessions and presented it to us this Christmas. What a gift! Awesome memories. Still going through them all.
My dads 68 with Granny and Grandpa sitting nearby. The old firetruck my Grandpa got running for the nearly finished volunteer fire department in Crowley Lake. Both him and my father spearheaded the fire station project.

Re: Vintage picture thread
I especially like your GMC. At that same time I had my first 73-87, a '78 short bed, that color (called Mahogany) with a black snap on tonneau cover. I sold it to get a '71 Blazer. I decided I wasn't ready to move on yet . I was always washing and waxing that truck...and not the K/20!

Re: Vintage picture thread
What are we looking at? Easy a '68 C10. Not so easy, what wheels are being used? Front wheels are 15" lock ring type. Rear wheels are wide base solid 16.5". ( rear hubcap is an incorrectly repainted '61-'63 C 10 cap). Mirrors are typical aftermarket west coast type. GemTop shell. Common scene back in the day.

Re: Vintage picture thread
I had a pair of 5-lug 9.75 x 16.5 rims on the rear of a '72 C/10. 8.25s went on the front. I ran 10.00 hiway and 12.00 M&S 8-ply bias. I do recall seeing 8-ply 15" tires and wide steelies, but I guess the 16.5s were more commonly available? I don't remember now, but floatation tires from the factory were only offered in 16.5

Re: Vintage picture thread
I think its interesting that GMC sold with non GM, probably since Chevy lots sold Chevy cars and trucks.
In the 60's my dad sold cars at a Chrysler Plymouth GMC dealer. In the mid 70's he sold at a GMC only place. The commercial trucks to the everyday trucks.

Re: Vintage picture thread
Nice set-up. Except I never liked the idea of towing with the bumper slid out. That's why I got out of my '71 camper rig. I wanted an 8' low-profile camper so I could tow and haul kayaks on top without getting a nose bleed
