hello every one. i just joined here and im hopen to make new friends and enjoy the best trucks in the world. i own a 87 swb c10. ive wanted one for as long as i can remember. its been a slow build but its getin there. and for the price i payed for it i cant beat it. i joined another chevy sight but thos guys didnt seam like my type of ppl. so ima try this one out. heres some pics of my baby tho. take care. brian

Welcome! Looks awesome so far! Looks you had a pretty solid truck to start with! Mine was a mess once I started taking panels off. What do you have planned for it? Are you keeping it that color? Im a huge fan of satin black. Thats the plan on mine I think, but choosing a color is one of the harder parts of a build imo.

thanks. the paint is one thing i cant figure out. im kinda diggin the black primer look right now. im goint to drop the rear 3" and 2.5 in the front. i payed 400 bucks for the truck with no motor or tranny. it had one dent in the pass door but me and a buddie fixed it. no rust tho. im tryin to figure out what gears i want to put in the rear to. this is just a weekend play toy and pavement painter lol

Rear gears will depend alot on what trans you have. I have 3.73s behind my turbo 350 and Once I hit highway speed I was at crazy high rpms. It would def get up and go though. You practically stole that thing for $400 lol. I paid about a grand for mine and she was ROUGH under the paint and panels. Might I suggest maybe getting a braided line for that oil pressure gauge if thats what it is. I dont trust those at all and oil in the cab is never a good deal if they come off or blow for some reason.

yea i was after this truck for 6 years from a old man down the road. i kept on bugin him till he finely let it go lol yea thats a oil press gauge. i just used it to start the motor on the ground befor i put it in. the motor is another good story. i payed 500 bucks for it with a saggy 4 speed. he told me it was just a stock 327. ppsshhh was he wrong lol. i took it home and tore it down cuz it sat in his shop for 8 years he took it out his el comino and put a newer 350 in it to run a.c. yea hes got money. but it turns out its a 0010. 010 020 350 board 60 over with trw .100 dome hight pistons. a balanced crank double hump heads. i gave it new gaskets and new intake. carb. hei destrib. and a old edelbroc i had. idk what the lift is on the cam but it surly counts them off. as far as gears go i was thinkin about 4:10s but that might be a bit much. i have a turbo 350 with a shift kit. i can take back roads to go to town but i dont want it to run out of gear at 100 lol

wow maysville aye? not too far from me....although its farther now that i moved to the other side of jacksonville on the southwest side...ive had my truck for over two years now and im seeing more and more of them pop up...and more and more of us pop up on here. nice truck and welcome

thanks again!! i hope to learn a few things about this truck and maybe some tricks to help aid my build. ive worked in a few shops and have had all kinds of toys from playing in mud to smoken the tires. this is the first short bed ive ever had and i plane on letn my girls drive it when they get older

and cleaned up my $20 u pull it bench seat.

well i got a little more done this week end. we got the wiring done and exhaust ran. i put flow master super 10s on it with 2. 1/5 pipes with turn downs at the rear. i put some 18" boss 338 rims on it to. still got a lot of other stuff to do also. heres a pic of it as of now.
