Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy

You would think for 8 large he could spend $20 at carpet barn for rug to put down, or maybe that is part of the 21K package? No under side pics means its leaking like crazy and exhaust is questionable in my mind. Rattle can black is hiding the old damage. Hope the plywood has new paint. His attitude tells it all. I stopped in at a local dealer to look at 65 Malibu in worse shape than mine at 2x the realistic price and the guy started ripping in to my car (I was driving the 64) as a defense for his price! He must have went to the same sales school as Mr. Georgia.

Even too high for us Iowegians. He can fix it up and price it to whatever he wants to. He'll still be owning it.

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy

i just picked up a 55 1/2 ton. runs and drives. not in bad shape but needs work. the truck had a hack resto done to it years a go. needs a bed, steps with rockers, door skins, probably the left side floor and toe board, possibly cab corners ( the only piece of the truck that was repaired by a pro) there is no rot that i have found/can see, just horrible patches . motor and tranny were rebuilt which is a plus. frame is in really good shape with no rust . i got it for 6000, a little high but ite the best i can do up here in the northeast. not many good trucks up here.

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy

I already picked it up. I know a lot of it is hack. But the big parts are in good shape. Gota spend big money to get one that's in really good shape up here. I'm gonna drive it for a little while the way it is then strip it now

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy

I would have let you have my Cameo, new motor/trans and all for 4K more than you spent, and mine has very little rust as its an Arizona truck. No matter what others say though, if you are happy with what you paid, then good on ya!

Get your money back, way to much work, and its nothing special for that price. I paid $6500 for my truck back when the economy was fantastick....and mine is a CAMEO!

Yeah don't jump on something just because you have the itch. Like I said, for 10K you can have mine, but for something closer to your price range, I know of 2 Cameos in AZ that are going for around 6K...
