What racing seat should i buy?
I'm installing a roll cage in my truck and need to install racing seat and I'm not sure what to buy, there are so many different seats out there. I want to go with a fixed back seat, I will be driving the truck on the street a little so I don't want something that is going to kill my back. I don't want to spend over $1700 for both seats. Anyone that is running a race seat that they like let me know?
Thanks Brett PS. I was looking at the Sparco and OMP seats just too many to pick from.

Re: What racing seat should i buy?
Which ever one you buy be sure it fits your butt. Squeezing in to a narrow seat gets uncomfortable real fast.

Re: What racing seat should i buy?
Kirky has some nice seats in different sizes that are reasonably priced. You should be able to get a pair with covers and mounts for less than $1000

Re: What racing seat should i buy?
I was looking for something a little cleaner looking. I still plane on going to car shows with the truck.

Couldn't you buy Recaro's for that kind of money.

Re: What racing seat should i buy?
I could not get the carbon fiber ones but I could get the fiberglass ones. I looked today and found all the nice fiberglass ones do not have holes in the backside of them to tie into the roll cage and to pass the nhra tech the back has to tie into the roll cage.

Re: What racing seat should i buy?
Get the kirkey seats you can get the pro drag seats with good harnesses and all tabs + mounting hardware for less than $1000. They are comfortable seats, not many can say that. Although I'm a little bias, I do own a set of these. Mine bolt through the backs, i I'd send you a pic, but the beast is in storage.
Hope I further confused you..... |

Re: What racing seat should i buy?
The Kirkey's are nice and I think you can still get them in different hip widths...which is great when keeping in mind the driving suit you'll be wearing (makes for reaching and buckling your driver restraints a little easier with the wider seat. I ran the Jaz Products aluminum seats (similar to the Kirkey Pro Street/Drag seats)in my Super Gas car for 20+ years and always found it to be really comfortable - I once fell asleep in the staging lanes at a divisional race at Las Vegas...luckily one of the Super Comp guys in the next lane tapped on my window when they started pulling us up.

Re: What racing seat should i buy?
Picked up the seats yesterday and made sure my co-pilot is going to fit in the seat. HaHa. My son is not old enough yet but when he is it's going to be fun.
