Re: What did you get done ? 05/20/12

Took out heater box to replace defroster actuator, discovered that the new actuator would require extensive mods, found a dried out section of vacuum hose to the actuator port, replaced that section of hose, reinstalled the old actuator, defroster now works. These old trucks are full of surprises.

Picked up some wheels for mine. Gotta clean them up a little and get some tires mounted for the Hoopty.

80's style 15x8, but I like them and the price was very good.

Mine's been needing a water pump. So I got that done. I think I did something wrong though, I didn't have a single bolt left over.

Replaced Rocker panels and cab corners on both sides, replaced both rear fenders, installed rear roll pan, cut finger, cussed, thew a socket that I cannot find now... and last but not least, I thought I was just passing gas... I was mistaken....

Re: What did you get done ? 05/20/12

Got the clutch adjusted on the 76 and put some miles on it. Fun truck to drive but the 75 c10 has a little more fun factor with the 454. Wish I could have got more done since I had the week off, but my son had to have a small surgery so it killed the week.

Re: What did you get done ? 05/20/12

Rewired headlight circuit to cure annoying voltage drop due to OE undersized wire gauge.
The headlights now get direct feed from battery terminals (through set of JY sourced relays and fuses) via 12AWG sized circuits. No more dim headlights!!
Total cost involved ~$20.

Went and bought a 24 gallon blazer tank for my swb frame. I'll hopefully get it mocked up this week.

Re: What did you get done ? 05/20/12

I swapped this out...

It was the original. I found a new (supposedly used, but it was brand new) one on Amazon's warehouse deals site for $18.

Also painted the tank, hangers, and replaced the straps while I had the tank down.
