SUICIDE door
Well I finally got some time in the garage. I have had these hinges for 3-4 mo. just now got around to the fabbing.
I got the hinges off of a 78 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I plated the jamb and cut holes. Mocked the hinges, shut the door and mocked the pocket in the door. Then lots of cutting and welding. 4hr's later WALLA!!! SUICIDE swing YEAH

Looking down at hinges, the hinges have a slight S in them giving that extra kick out away from the body. This gives me about 1.5" clearance from the body and the doors open ALL the way paralell

And finally with the door closed. It closed almost perfect the first time. I just have to tweak it up by maybe 1/8"

Not at all. That is why I got motivated.
I was following your post and thought I better get started. I posted a pic of the hinges in your post. I don't know if you seen it. I posted it to show you the curve to see if you might be able to alter the ones you made. But this way is the easiest, and cost effective Hinges= Salvage $30 3x3 square tubing $5.06 Bolts and hardware $6.25 Total= $41.31

I was pretty stoked. I ran and got my neighbor and Bro in law, and was like check this $HIT out. Then step back and watch the jaws drop. This was actually a pretty easy mod. Alot easier than drip rails. These trucks were made to swing that way, with all that room behind the pillar in the cab.

Kickin my Arse? I like to take my time... yeah that's it.. Looks Kick @ss. I would go with those hinges but already have all of the junk for mine. Maybe on the next one I do I'll use those. How deep it is that top channel? I needed Viagra to get wood when mine swung...45 degrees... I'll have it going full 90 shortly.

Thanks for all the props guys.
The channels in the door are approx 2.5" deep and 3.5 longthe top channel butts up to the window channel evrything still goes up and down, I still have some re-enforcing to do on the door and the cab. It is flexing a bit. I just had to see it swing so I got a little excited and had to get pics posted to share. Dirt dobber, I posted the pic of hinges on your post to give ya idea's on modifying your hinges you made. Maybe your channel is not deep enough? I don't know just throwing out idea's. lotik, Maybe on round 2 of your truck Now I can't wait to get my hood to tilt forward like lotik's. Eventually everything on my truck will be shaved or suicided.
