(Before)

(Got it home ^^^)

(Next morning ^^^)
PS - the oil marks are from the 88 GMC that was parked there. Thankfully it is gone! This truck does not leak and runs great. Just needed to get it one color.... (see below)

Haha! Thanks buddy! It is a 1982 Chevy Scottsdale Camper Special. It was a 6.2 diesel, but the PO put in a built 350 and TH350. I am going to pull it out eventually and do a 6BT and manual transmission of some sort.
I am impressed with the torque and pep of this setup. The PO told me he pulled a 12,000 lb load last week with no problems. I believe him.

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56

On this dually, I eventually want it to be bagged...if it could lay frame and tow Dianah and two of her girlfriends around, wouldn't that be awesome? I also love the Longhorn bumper on the back...pretty cool to me.

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56

here is rhe basics of how we are going to do the removable floor.the locks will be on each brace its just illustrated on the end. what do you guys think?
this is obviously for a stepper but can be applied to a fleet you would just need to remove the wheel wells first

when I got home my wife came into the garage to help e squeeze it in....but she said "what's this? You bought ANOTHER ONE????!!!??

She was serious. I told her no, I gave it the "Leon Under Construction" treatment.

I didn't ask for help, but she wanted to make sure I cleared the racks in the back of the garage. That looks good...cannot wait!

They are not locks in the traditional sense.
I think he's using leverage to hold it into place at one end and twist release pins in the other that way he only has to remove the pins at one end to remove the entire floor, It's a quick release system.

Xeen you are pretty close. The locks are just simply a piece of angle iron welded to the frame structure that will slide under each of the cross braces of the main floor except for the rear one it will have a few bolts in it so how it will work is you will drop the tailgate and remove the bolts on the rear crossmember and slide the whole floor insert back a few inches to allow the angle to unlock or clear the raised floor the just lift the I entire floor out a one piece giving access to all of you components under the floor without having to remove each piece of wood or going crime underneath. The pieces of angle will be tapered in so as it slides forward they will get progressively tighter to reduce the chance of any squeaking etc. hope this helps to clarify it a bit

I knew that, I just didn't know what he was using on that end as the "lock"

Unfortunately I will be working most of Saturday, but we will be prepping it to get ready for the initial fire-up. Soon she will be on the road again!

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56

Leon I was thinking to make it easier to handle the floor once it is "unlocked" you could just build in some catches to hook chains to hoist it with and drive the truck out from under it, that might make it alot easier to remove.

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56

That's a cool idea, Brian. I think we are going to hinge or section it though, so removal will be easy in case of mobile repairs. As I drive it, I will probably see other ideas...
