Re: 250 L6 turbo? What do you think?
300 hp and running premium gas dealing with boost or running a small block on basically watered down cheap gas and nothing to break. id take the v8.

Re: 250 L6 turbo? What do you think?
Yeah i hear ya man and it makes way more sense. IMO too easy and not what i want in my truck. i can pick any random truck within a 100 mile radius and it will more than likely have a v6 or v8. im plain an simple tired of it.etc.. i could go on

Re: 250 L6 turbo? What do you think?
Good idea and yeah you are right per HP the straight sixes cost more when you start doing anything more than stock to them. its not very cost effective. I dont know of hand but there are a few out there have pretty impressive numbers. Kirby drag truck on youtube has a L6 and a few other guys with the inliners international have built some impressive motors they have videos on youtube (too much money and time for me to go that far though)

Re: 250 L6 turbo? What do you think?
there is a inline 6 that could make that kind of power cheaply but idk if you want a cummins. but yeah you could do a buick or olds 350 and scream. talking about i6 ya know the ford ones can make great power cheap. i wonder if we could bore the 250 out or get some more displacement somehow. just ideas.

Re: 250 L6 turbo? What do you think?
This is my first post here, so take it for what it is worth. I really like the idea of a turbo 250. That's what my future plans are for my 68. Everyone has a small block, big block, LS this or that in their truck, is it really about how fast it goes, or how fast you goes with what it came with? I think the cool factor is over the top with the a turbo 250. I also think it can be plenty fast for not that much money. It's a seven main motor. The biggest thing holding them back is the head, but do some research, and they can flow quiet well. I'm thinking 15 lbs of boost, 6500rpm, fuel injected, and hopefully around 500hp. on a moderate budget.

yeah for sure! Its doable and ive done my research on the heads I think ive got this pretty much ironed out at this point and if i decide to get more out of it i know what i can do for them to flow better. I was estimating around a little over 300 hp. i am taking the block crank and head by the machine shop next week to get everything cleaned magnafluxed etc..
